The start of this LL Cool J tune has the same sample as Super Sharp Shooter, but SSS doesn't sample LL - which is what it says on here!
Here is the Cool J tune which has the sample with the Five Stairsteps break over the top...

What's that bass sample please!?

And exactly why isn't LL the source of what Zinc sampled? The sample appears clean in the track. The fact that the alphabet is from LL shows Zinc has more from him (though both tracks are on different albums).

Even if the whole bit originates from somewhere else, then the STRUCTURE (repitition of the 2 bits) is the same as LL's, which would definitely not be the same as the original.

The rule is that we try to list the sampled tune, which may not always be the original where this sample was taken from.

Next to that... if it was sampled, you'd expect it to appear in the Rap Sample FAQ (not sure what was sampled from Atomic Dog though...).

(just listened to LL again... and I think the bassline/guitar riff isn't a sample as a whole but made for LL's track, which would definitely make LL the source).
Thanks to RollDaBeats I've finally found a use for all the records and CD's I have bought...

Well, the reason I don't think that LL is the source is that the sample never appears without the Fivestairsteps break over it in the LL track.
So, unless Zinc magically managed to remove the break, he sampled it from the same place that LL did...

Ahh good for clearing this up, I always wondered about that bass sound

from LL Cool J - Eat 'Em Up L

I always knew the similarity but I didn't actually think it was clear in the LL Cool J track at all you see.

But! So it's clean at 3:56 you say Extreme?

Wicked tune btw
