theorie
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/test/test005 Dan Miracle informs me that the artist on this is actually Lemon D. As the test labels don't carry artist info I've asked Dan if he would kindly look and see if there are any other changes to be made to the Test Discography. theorie
Here is Dan's Reply: Dan MIRACLE wrote on 09-01-2005 05:23 PM: ez, i'm not registered on there so i'll just give you the answers here (as there aren't many) and you can tell RDB RDB: TEST004 - Dillinja & Lemon D - Ghost Stories / Rhythmic TripThey're both by Lemon D RDB: TEST005 - Dillinja - Static / Rapture They're both by Lemon D RDB: TB3 - Dillinja & Lemon D - Total Recall / Test Time Lemon D did Total RecallDillinja did Test Time (they've never collaborated on any D&B tunes!) RDB: TEST009 - Dillinja & Lemon D - Just Relax / Neck BackThese tracks both came out as "Capone" (neither were by Lemon D) The only one I'm unsure of is "The Fuse" as it doesn't sound much like either of them (but I guess it still sounds more like Dillinja than Lemon D) everything else on there seems correct hope that helps! Ornette
Well I never. I would never have thought Test #4 was Dillinja at all. Theorie, who is this Dan? Does he really know his Test/Dillinja stuff? Because I wanna know about this so-called "Test Time" track cause I've heard two different versions of it!!!! Every TB#3 I've listened to has this different, 'beefed-up' remixed version thingy on it which is not the same as the original version I remember being played from mid 1998! Can you ask him what he knows on this???!!!

Ornette
There is a different version of "Test Time" out there. Someone has to know about it. Or maybe someone even remembers the 'released' version being played out & aboutI'd like to hear about it... I already started a thread about this which you can read here, if you're interested - http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35495

Can you ask him what he knows on this???!!!You've got to bear in mind that both Dillinja & Lemon D make several versions of tunes to test on dubplate before it reaches release stage. I've heard several mixes of Dillinja tunes which when released, come out as a totally different mix (ie. Hands In The Air on Killa-Hertz has about 6 different versions priored to the released one, same with 96 Thing of which I have heard 5 different mixes).Sometimes the version you hear initially on dub is much better than the ones that get released. It's normally because they judge their tunes by crowd reactions and if the initial mix doesn't get the response they feel it'll require in order to sell well, they normally 'tone it down' to make it fit in with what the crowd are more likely to react to. They're also perfectionists with their engineering so they often mix down material several times (and sometimes make changes to the track itself) before settling on a final version for release.... So to conclude, there are 1000s of Dillinja & Lemon D tracks/mixes/remixes/vips that haven't & won't ever see the light of day *wishes the original "Valve Sound" (with the hip hop intro), "Gangsta Boogie", and "The Thunderous" were released*

I don't think we need to list all the incarnations of a track that before it came out but it'd be good to have info on tracks that did have very different mixes on dub. Ornette
You've got to bear in mind that both Dillinja & Lemon D make several versions of tunes to test on dubplate before it reaches release stage... Dear Dan Miracle, Hey-ya. Thanks for giving me an answer on that TB#3 query. I suppose you are right about the numerous alternate versions of Dillinja tunes. I know Dillinja has always been quite a productive person, although perhaps the revising of tunes you have described may be more of a recent practise relating to the much developed market approach now of all things related Valve. I suppose there is a chance that it still may be the TB#3 mispress. Haven't come across it yet though. Well I'm, sure we'd all like to hear more about any unreleased thingys that you are aware of! There's a nice little thread developing over in "Unreleased Tunes" section - check it out: http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=39817 Cheers!
