blah
saw doc scott play this blatently early dillinja tune at heads in brighton the other day and it had ravy stabs in it and I think the "jah"rastafari" sample he has used in another tune as well (doc played three dillinja tunes next to each other so I guessing it has the rastfari sample in it) sounded early 93 which makes me think again that tough tunes 01 may be him as well with someone else. didn@t bother asking doc scott any info (the man can kill with his glare at 20 paces)

blah
keep forgetting to sometimes put the gap in a word when doing a search. the one I saw was a release and the lable was different, waveform was all one word and it had the word "recordings" under "waveform"
Phokus
it's definitely this release. has the same little riff in it that sl2 sampled as well, right?

sven
A side has "Selassie" and "Jah" samples. This tune always had some sort of samba feeling to me... :tumbleweed: Anyway, here's a picture of the other side:

Logic
Not sure if this is relevant, but Dillinja also did a tune called Rastafari in '94 with a sort of underlying 4/4 ravey pattern with rolling bass here: http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/deadly_vinyl/dill6
blah
he must have played both sides, good tunes. that majestic bline ep came out around oct/nov 93 as that was when I got it and don fm was kaning it back then too. I think tough tunes 02 also came out about then but mine is on a white and the other releases have some purple label (which mine doesnt for some reason) was both sides purple tough tunes logo or one side was a white? Ornette
It's the track on the B Side that has those vocal samples and the DJs Take Control/Let The Music Use You sample. I've got an earlier mix of this on tape that is like, absolutely roughhouse. I guess its Dillinja, but I've yet to get a 100% id on what it is. One of those Cybotron releases I haven't gotten by hands on yet? Can anyone confirm this:http://www.tradezone.ltd.uk/tarzanstuff/di...0(original).mp3

Blah this is your thread, how about a response from you Which DJ is playing this Ornette? sounds like Times 2 from Kool FM on the mic. sure ive heard this before, sounds abit like brain records style to me (especially near the end of the clip & not just the darkness sample). Ornette
Excellent Phokus! Which DJ is playing this Ornette? sounds like Times 2 from Kool FM on the mic.sure ive heard this before, sounds abit like brain records style to me (especially near the end of the clip & not just the darkness sample). Its DJ SL & MC Gaffer (i think?) playing on... wait for it... Weekend Rush 92.3FM. Got a date for this being Saturday 28th August 1993, approx 8pm. I know it was Weekend Rush because I was flicking the radio over to Kool FM during the recording... (Babyface Ragga being on the other side... ) I was just thinking earlier it has a bit of a Brain Records feel... I was going on what someone told me at the time, that it was Dillinja (I'd never heard of Dillinja before at that point). A couple of months later the Waveform tune came out and it all made sense. I remember saying to Clarky at Blackmarket: "...Hey, this is a remix isn't it, do you have the original?". His response was very vague, so much so I wasn't even convinced he knew what I was talking about, but he reckoned they "don't have it in at the moment"... It doesn't sound unlike him, Dillinja, at least.
