Been a while since I last posted in this forum, so I hope everyone is keeping well!

This break has been bugging me for some time now:

It crops up in a fair few oldskool hardcore tracks, notably in Foul Play’s remix of Open Your Mind, but it’s usually in exactly the same format each time. This leads me to think it’s either from a sample CD or a hip hop track, but having trawled through loads from the era, I’ve never come across it.

Seems to have elements of Funky Drummer on the snares. Anyone have an idea?

you can get the zip free from the kniteforce site (http://www.kniteforcerevolution.com/music/kniteforce), not sure how long i've had the "50 hardcore breakbeats" on my comp for, I think it was something moonkat gave me.

anyway, it's just some breaks that go into each other.

somewhere before 4:20 there's the (complete) 2 bad mice 'hold it down' which always seems to get sampled due to the very distinguishable humptydump break.

after 4:20 there's this! AND THIS IS THE BREAK I need to ID! because that is the 3rd break in 'hold it down' here it is..

so if I can get that badboy id'd I'm laughing, I need to ask around on hiphop forums because that 'whack'(?) voice might be a clue.

Kid Unknown - Nightmare has the drum break isolated but with extra Apache over it (so it's a 3rd gen break itself), but other tracks I've mentioned don't have these Apache elements, so they have sampled it not from Nightmare.

Samples the Hot Pants break (shakers at least).

I think it can be from Clivilles & Cole production, because they have similar beats in some tracks produced by them (Seduction - Two To Make It Right, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Let The Beat Hit 'Em (C&C remix)).
