want to know your opinion on this little matter:

it is safe to assume that is a remix of a certain track is on a release somewhere which just says [track name] (remix), that this remix is done by the original artist(s)?

as in... should the original artist(s) be credited for doing the remix as well?

yes...there's no need for the artist name if it just says remix as i'd assume it was by the original artist

hehe.. yes, we know who did the 'remix' but the database does not

in another way:

should a remix of one of his own tracks appear in the list of remixes he did.. (in my opinion it should)

Oh I get it, like Dream Team - Yeah Man (Dream Team remix) instead of just (Remix)

Yeah that makes sense, many producers will label it that way anyway

in my opinion i'd say no, i always thought that section was for an artist working on someone elses tune. if it is a remix of their own track then it is still their own composition and i reckon should appear directly under their name

i think it should appear in both. of course in the list of tracks he (or she) did. but since extra (??) effort has been put into it i think the track should also but noted as a remix by that artist. the idea is the same as doing a remix of a track by another artist... :?

haha logically tarzan's is right.. its redudant but redundancy never hurt anyone, and doing it the other way probably means putting in extra code to make exceptions.
