Right, so currently the tarzan database kicks ass for looking up stuff. It is hands down the most thorough site for listing the history of ALL DRUM AND BASS RELEASES EVER.

But my record shelves just keep growing and for certain labels, I like the feature on discogs where it lets me log in, and when I look up a record I can mark whether I have that record or not. That way when I'm thinking of buying something on ebay, I can say "hmmmm do I have this?" and look it up on discogs and it clearly tells me if I do or not.

Discogs also lets me export a list of what I own as a separate file, which is a GREAT feature.

I"m wondering, for those who know, will the new tarzan have anything like this (and how soon will it be)? Coz if it will I won't bother with discogs, but if it won't I guess I'll keep going back and forth between the 2 databases.

I'm not a fan of discogs .. but that is one of their better 'features' and would definitely add great extra usability to Tarzan if it could be implemented. Any chance then lads?

:?: :?:

Preferably with the option that Discogs had at the start (but not anymore!!) to do this from the label overview page, so you can add all releases from a label at once, instead of 1-by-1.

that would definitely be great. What is the timetable until the new tarzan? Is it not gonna happen for a year? 2 years? 6 months?

I don't mean to sound pushy since tarzan is free and is already a great service, but it's annoying knowing that discogs is out there and has this very useful feature that tarzan lacks. Going between discogs and tarzan like this is like buying fench fries from one store, then driving down the street to another store so you can get ketchup, for each individual fry, one by one.

if this feature did materialize, i think more people would be attracted to tarzan because it would be personalized by user. Imagine the marker that discogs has of a running tally: "x amount of users have this release" and "x amount of users want this release." If tarzan did something like this, it would serve the double purpose of giving some fair indication of the actual rarity of certain records, instead of the way rarity of records is often currently gauged by 'how often you see it on ebay and how much it went for' (Which is often dictated by hype and not actual rarity).
