jj Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Unreleased remix that Bukem and Peshay used to play back in 1995. Clip from LTJ Bukem - Kiss FM - 13th December 1995 Quote
Ornette Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Are you talking about the "Say It" remix? yes I remember isn't it in the tarzan database as the B-Side to "One Nation"? an unreleased test press of course, but there you go Quote

When I heard it played in summer 1995 it was always known as a VIP mix of Version (Say It on PRO006 is a confusing name if you know the Entity/3rd Eye release, even though Say It & Version use the same vocal. ). haste Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I'll have a listen through later to check Quote
Ornette Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Well I can say for certain that I do remember this "Say It" remix / "Version" remix - what with Bukem playing it at a World Dance I went to late (Nov?) 1995, and he also played it on his Weds night Kiss 100 show early 1996 (possibly Jan/feb). But whether or not it was actually released as a Protoype Records test press (as a b-side to "One Nation"), I cannot confirm, and I don't think anyone else here can do that either, unless they own a copy. Why oh why "one Nation" never got a proper release, I do not know. Probably just to confound us drum & bass heads, probably. Huh! Quote

Ornette Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 This apparently is NOT the same mix that is on the PRO006 12" Is a different unreleased mix. When I heard it played in summer 1995 it was always known as a VIP mix of Version (Say It on PRO006 is a confusing name if you know the Entity/3rd Eye release, even though Say It & Version use the same vocal. ). JJ - although I suppose technically the tune is a remix of "Version", I don't ever remember anyone ever referring to this or the original tune as "Version" - always "Say It" as far as I am concerned (and if to split hairs - would be described as the 'amen' mix of... if anything. ) Can I have a sound clip please!!!!! You're probably right that it makes more sense to ignore the original labelling and call it a Say It remix as they're based on the same tune. I'll get a soundclip done tomorrow. Quote
