sven Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Prisoners of Technology "Battlemaster" (Fresh Kutt) Piano riff CLIP HERE Quote
haste Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 It should be noted that this is itself a sample from Isaac Hayes - Ike's Lament although I doubt POT took it from there. I always thought this was sampled off the second(?) track on the Foxy Brown - Il Na Na album, but I'm sure you're right about the Mary J one. Quote
sven Posted March 23, 2005 Author Report Posted March 23, 2005 hmmm, that brings up another question: what should be posted as sample source? for example, a lot of tunes sample these martial arts speeches from the wu tang songs, but I guess they sampled it again from another source (film?). Therefore the source posted should be the original film, instead of the wu tang track (example). If someone knows it....Or is it OK to post one possible source where they might have sampled it from, no matter if it's the original? Quote

It's ok to be anal about some sources, but let's not turn it into a colonoscopy. Quote
haste Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 I agree with free4orm...go with what you know. If someone knows the original source then they can comment on it and we can decide whether it should be changed or not Quote
haste Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Clip added Definitely sampled from the Mary J tune. The original doens't have the extra beats & beefed up production Quote
sconeboy Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Shit typing....fixed i love that hayes tune.. Quote
blah Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 also used in the b-side on this http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/subversive/subvr5 also didn't a back2basics tune sample this ??? I keep thinking of this for some reason http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/back_2_basics/b2b12053 Quote
haste Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Yeah, I think that B2B release did sample it. Some of them might have sampled the Hayes tune and not the Blige one, though Quote
