Christopher Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Interesting problem this. First load, the top-left logo looks fine - but on a refresh, instead of saying the phrase "rolldabeats" it just shows the "rdb" logo, but with a white bg and stretched ridiculously along the horizontal axis. Also, the background logo (in the middle of the page) isn't vertically-aligned correctly (at least in IE); the image starts behind the top blue bar, so the top gets chopped off. I can understand the background logo being offset too much; this is probably cause someone's coded the CSS for Firefox and IE interprets it differently (it has a habit of doing that). The top-left image though... Almost like there's an anti-hotlinking script which isn't detecting the referring page correctly? Worth checking out, because it looks horrible. Quote
haste Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I do get the image problem sometime but I have no idea why it happens and have never been able to duplicate it when I want to. Only happens very rarely for me. The background image is supposed to be tucked behind the menu a bit, that's part of the design. I'm not sure how much is being chopped off on your screen though. A screen shot would be useful if you can do one Quote

Just went to the front page now, the top-left logo works fine even after reload, and there's no big 'rdb' image on the background at all now! Gremlins? I remember the Google site went all snafu once, and elicited a few of the same symptoms... Was like it for a couple of weeks on and off, then it just stopped. Same kinda problem - the wrong image, stretched to the dimensions that it should be except ones that looked totally wrong for the (incorrect) image. Argh, webservers are playing mindfuck with us :S Quote
Logic Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 It displays like this all the time on my home PC, but never on my work PC (both using IE6). I just thought it was a bad cache since I had copies of the images from the test sites before we went live. Weird. Quote

haste Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Yeah, that's the same as I get sometimes - I have absolutely no idea why it's doing it. The image that it's displaying was never used on the site in the first place!!! Quote
eXtreme Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 never had that before, one thing ive just noticed though, the top left image has lost its mouse over background colour, its gone back to being white. Quote
haste Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Back to being white?? It was always white on the rollover Quote
The_Manipulator Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Hmm... does that screen really say "You're logged in as "?!?Shouldn't that be "You're not logged in"?? Quote

Christopher Posted July 17, 2005 Author Report Posted July 17, 2005 It did it again! For some reason, for the top-left logo it's trying to use http://rolldabeats.com/images/site/header_logo.gif ... dodgy css class definitions maybe? http://chriswoods.co.uk/files/rdbproblem.jpg And then, I opened the site up in a second window... And it was all working again. http://chriswoods.co.uk/files/rdbproblem-noproblem.jpg Very bizarre. Oh, and also: I tried to up these pictures as attachments originally, only to receive THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUNDThe requested file upload failed because suitable permissions have not been enabled on the 'uploads' directory. Please contact the board administrator and inform them of this error. ... sort it aaaaht guvna Quote
