Guest Adrian Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 does anyone know the tune off the Centrum TV ad. the one with a d&b/jungle tune and the dad comes in and tells his son to turn the music up then starts raving in the lounge??? Quote
theorie Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 I don't think it's a tune as such, more just some little break mash out done for the ad. Try searching for contact info for centrum and phone them up and ask them, I'd like to know this too Quote
Guest Adrian Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 it is a back 2 basics tune. its on a compatition on the back 2 basics web site. im not bothered about the comp just wanna know!!! Quote

Java Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I've never seen this advert, I'd love to hear some audio, its always interesting to see dnb being played to the masses! Quote
Ornette Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Its a real contrived piece of amen tearout, with reverse subs, timestreched amens etc. Its very effective but so miscellaneous I'm not surprised Theorie speculated it was a one away 'mash up' done specifically for the ad - I thought the same thing! have yet to confirm with my own ears yet Quote

Guest Guest Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 what is ''with reverse subs, timestreched amens etc.'' Quote
Ornette Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 what is ''with reverse subs, timestreched amens etc.''Reverse sub basslines - all the rage for late 1994 into 1995 after the release of "Dred Bass". Timestreched amen breakbeats - as in the beat taken from The Winstons - Amen, Brother - another big fashion during 1994. The tune from the advert is a bit cliched, sounds good, but still a bit cliched. Possibly one of the better examples of 'tearout amen', though! Edit: just listened to your 'clips' Mantis and its defo the tune from the advert! Quote
