Abend Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 seems like a good idea. im getting frustrated googling drummers. anybody else? Quote
The_Manipulator Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I personally think that we're not really the site to actively create discographies for drummers. Also because they're just session musicians! If you listen to some Dakota Station album (forgot the title), that has Bernard Purdie on drums, you're really not going to be happy! It's just a soft, jazz shuffle thing. And even then, most albums don't credit session musicians, so you don't really know who's the drummer! I mean, even that Dakota Station album isn't listed on Bernard Purdie's site, simply because he's just a session drummer there! The furthest I want to go is create a thread with external links to sites that do keep discographies for drummers. One last remark: solo albums by drummers are usually horrible! Instead of just doing a rhythm they go wild to show off their stuff! Just look through the breaks, there are hardly any taken from 'solo' albums by drummers! Quote

You're probably better of with drum instruction albums if you're looking for stuff to use. Quote
