djhaynes
Does anyone know why Alex Reece didn't release a follow up album after Al's Records Series 1 release date March 1997? I own a white label of the Al's Records Series 1 and it says on the promo sheet that "Alex Reece is currently in the studio working on the follow up to his debut album. His next releases should see the light of day early Summer 1997." But nothing was released apart from remixes of tracks like Inxs's Searching, Cibo Matto's Sugar Water and Leo Leo, the only thing I have found (Which is like the drum and bass holy grail.) is a promo CD of Vicious Circle from 1998 which contains Sound Clash, Will You Give Me What I Need? and mixes of Vicious Cirlce. I do rember Reece playing a few tracks on the radio show One In The Jungle 07/03/97 Listen Without Predudice Week, but as far as I know they were never released. My only guess is that unlike his first Album So Far which went Silver by selling over 60000 copies, Al's Series One wasn't such a great seller and his label Island Records didn't see the piont in releasing a follow up album, but strangly released the Vicious Circle E.P as a promo CD in late 1998 and a pared down vinyl version in 1999. If any one out there can shed light on the subjuct it would be much appreciated
St8ofbass
If any one out there can shed light on the subjuct it would be much appreciated An album was scheduled for late 1999 (they'd commissioned a biography), but Island didn't think it was drum'n'bass enough. Which was fair enough as was largely an 80s techno pop set! Very good though.Track list was: Vicious CirclesPhantastik VoyageAngelsWheelWill You Give Me What I NeedA Different World You UnderstandRollin ?99A Woman in Da WomanFallingStarTell MeIn Dis World Hope this answers your question. Ornette
According to a Fallen Angels article in Mathmatix magazine #1 (Atmosphere sister mag), Feb(?) 1999, the title of the album was "Fantastic Voyage"
djhaynes
Thanks for the info, I luckily picked up a sampler version of the album, and Alex Reece did confirm the album title as Phantastik Voyage too. Is it possible to get a scan or text of the magazine article? Thanks

I posted a little from it here if you're interested: https://subvertcentral.com/forum/thread-59543-post-899941.html#pid899941
