geist Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 the fuck your minimal ep on suicide commercial it's blatantly all techno I'm not complaining - I'm glad it is in the database, but a couple of years ago when I started entering in some techno/hardcore releases in the vein of enzyme records, I was politely asked to back off of such submissions so are we officially expanding? Or is rdb loosely constrained to drum and bass, and genres that vaguely relate to drum and bass? Quote
haste Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 We're not going to take huge amounts of other genres right now as there is still not enough resource for entering it all but as soon as the new admin system is in place then the site will be expanding. The choice to expand is not one of not wanting to, it's more a case that we don't have the ability to at the moment. Quote
theorie Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 I was thinking the other day... I have a ever growing DVD collection. Is there an 'rdb' for DVDs that anyone knows of? Quote
haste Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 None that I've seen. Good idea, though. imdb should offer it as an option Quote

Or is rdb loosely constrained to drum and bass, and genres that vaguely relate to drum and bass? It's not as black and white as you make it. The big difference between this techno and the 'other' techno is that this is done by a producer which does drum & bass as well and is therefore listed in the database. The same goes for John Tejada for instance, who does techno as well nowadays. As we explained to you earlier as you refer to, the reason was no so much that we don't want 'other' music in the database, but the fact that even with just drum & bass I can't keep up with the amount submissions. That was why you were asked to wait with submissions which were non-dnb until we have the new backend and more people can add things to the database. Quote
