mikeeee-mk2 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXw5uUbLQyM As used in: Shoot the Moon - TechnophobiaNew Atlantic - Yes to Satan (Original promo mix)Rhythm For Reasons - Grand National (Original mix) I'm assuming these tunes sampled the break from Silver Bullet - not sure where it originates. Ruff break!!! Quote
mikeeee-mk2 Posted April 6, 2011 Author Report Posted April 6, 2011 Just noticed too - have a listen to the noise in the intro at 24 seconds - I'm sure a snippet of that is used for the stab noise in Shoot The Moon - Technophobia, and Rhythm Section - Feel The Rhythm (and became a commonly used stab) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAW3L_TDrko Quote

It's just a flanged stab with a bass sound underneath it. Guess it must come from somewhere else. As for the break: To specify it it's "Silver Bullet - Undercover Anarchist (Push to the Limit Mix)" And I'm a bit skeptical if that one is used in Grand National. It's true for the other two examples, but not for Grand National. Also that break is used in a lot of DnB tunes, even though i never can remember which ones... Here's the link to the breakbeat http://dl.dropbox.com/u/113477/jungle/Silver%20Bullet%20-%20Undercover%20Anarchist%20%28Push%20To%20The%20Limit%20Mix%20-%20Breakbeat%29.mp3 Quote
mikeeee-mk2 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 Sounds exactly the same to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSgGin9Z1So Quote
JVXP Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Ah i see. The remix has it, you just wrote in the 1st post it was in the original. That's what startled me a bit... Quote
mikeeee-mk2 Posted June 1, 2013 Author Report Posted June 1, 2013 And here is the original source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYQOOWzydzA Black Heat - Love The Life You Live - break at 4:41 ...and I've just realised I've had this for years on two different compilation CDs, for fuck's sake!! If you can be arsed, try chopping out a little bit of it and pitching it around, it's definitely the source of the stab sound.... Quote
