Roni Size & Die - It's A Jazz Thing

Can anyone identify the intro break for 'It's A Jazz Thing' by Roni and Die. The one with the really woody live snare. It might be a break with that live snare layered on top but either way it would be good to know! Thanks

I always thought it was soul pride, with loads of other kicks and the flanger on it

There is some Soul Pride that comes in a little later but thats not the original version you've posted

 

 

If you're talking about the intro beat it sounds just like a made up beat with some individual snare & kick hits, wouldn't think it was a 'break' but could be wrong

 

EDIT: That might be some beats taken from NT actually

 

EDIT again: and some Assembly Line coming in later yet on the high-end ride...

Was just saying. Seems like bits of NT.

 

I also won't exclude the option of the Roland sample libraries. Who knows. I know they used Roland samplers.
