RAW10 Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 Anyone done any tape pack submissions that the mods don't moan about? I submitted 10 packs last month and got put on some CIP. I looked at the previous submissions and just followed that standard, but there are a lot of inconsistencies. Problem is depending on who reviews my submission I get different info. I just wanted a view of what good looks like rather than a rule book that doesn't help? Is there a better source for adding tape packs that Discogs? Quote
mindthegap Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 Yep, do it one way and you'll get the ire of a mod, modify it to please them and risk the ire of another... I've got to the point where I list them based on previous submissions as accurately as possible and so be it. It's important they're on discogs imo regardless. I also get a bit annoyed that nearly all tape packs are considered 'unofficial' - if you're listing an original tape pack/tape set from the promoter it's not 'unofficial' ffs. Quote
djkryptonn Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 When I first started uploading tapes/packs I ran into a few comments etc. but to be honest they died down pretty quick when I just kept uploading. I never replied to most of them either, which I think helped. If you use the submissions from people who upload a lot as a guide then they'll be fine. Re. the "unofficial" thing, the music on the tapes isn't licensed so it kind of makes sense. I don't think people searching for mixtapes would ever filter by that criteria either, so I just went with the flow. Keep up the good work. It's nice to get them on there. I've added all the tapes I have that weren't already listed. Quote
