I digitised most of my favourite One Nation cassettes from 1998/1999 back in 2010.  I was in going to digitise all of them then found a lot of these rips online so just used them instead if I wanted a listen.  Those announcements are awful, I'll have to check if any other sets have these announcements on or whether it was just this set.  There are a number of the One Nation tapes still where no rips are online and I've made a note of them and will get round ripping them at some point.

The track is slightly different to LSD as it does not have the helicopter sound and is missing some of the other sounds in the track.  This track must have eventually ended up becoming LSD.

dubdubdub has confirmed "In my collection i found this track in 2 slightly different versions. Both plates came from different dj collections. One plates says "Swift Time", the other "Mampi Time". So its called "Time""

Mampi Swift – Untitled (Samples Hypnotist and Touch Of J) [Unreleased] - Sample Bandit on Soundcloud has confirmed they had a mutual friend send Swift a clip of this track. Swift confirmed it never came out and it was just an experiment on its own, doesn't have a name or anything specific. He remembers some of the samples are from Hypnotist and Touch of J. At one point someone threw away all his dats and zip drives and this would've been on it.

Mampi Swift - Untitled "Early version of Reload" [Unreleased] - on Heat & One Nation 31st July 1998 - Mampi Swift tape A3) (Has to be considered a remix of some sort, of "Load" but not "Reload" from the year after.  This is an early version of Reload released on Playaz - this is basically the 2nd drop) - thevault on dogsonacid.com confirmed a possible different iteration of this track was found on a dubplate titled "Project B"

I rememebr sitting the studio with swift talking about this mix, and he said that Pascal, Hype said it sounds to much like "The One" so he switched the bassline up and drum patten on the released version, yet add a nod to "the one" bassline style in the 2nd drop of the released version of reload

Around 2015 I sat in the studio with Swift and we spent the best part of 5 days ripping a load of his DATs. Some of the tapes were snapped, but most of them worked, and there were loads of tracks on there that I remembered hearing at events in the early 2000s, including VIP mixes of Jaws (there’s actually a snippet of me playing it through some outboard on YouTube).

The main reason we ripped them was because Swift was putting together his History LP at the time. It was also around the same period we made “Big Tune” featuring MC Dynamite.

I don’t think he ever really did anything with a lot of the tracks we recovered. There were absolutely loads of them, and some of the tracks in these SoundCloud links might actually be from those DATs. It’s been a while now, but I remember him saying he felt some of the mixes weren’t quite right and wished he could go back and tweak them.

This was before stem separation was really a thing, so back then it wasn’t exactly possible to revisit old DAT mixes in the way you probably could now. But I remember saying to him, they are what they are. Those tracks are the foundations and building blocks of what made his sound and legacy what it became.

Thanks for the information on the Early version of Reload and thanks for sharing your experiences of being in the studio going through all of these DATs, that must have been very exciting times!

vault / sample bandit / etc here, finally managed to make an account

The above re: DATs being ripped is very interesting

I've been collecting unreleased Swift for a while now and have a mutual contact who forwards clips to him when I'm down bad for info on a particular track

I sent him the 1998 Untitled (with Touch Of J Samples) track and he said that he doesn't have it anymore because at one point his DATs, zip drives and sample CDs were destroyed and he had to rebuild from there. @Dapz Reckon the ones you were ripping came after that?

There's a lot of unreleased and unheard Swift that was produced between Long Life and Mainframe, enough to make a whole album on its own tbh, so I reckon it could've happened around that time.

My specialty is making ultra high quality dubplate recordings.. so I'm gearing up to eventually sending him everything I have and hopefully fill some gaps in his archives. Would be a huge win if he did another legacy releases project. Really big fan of high profile archive projects like Future Cut's 20 Years, Optical 20 Years, Skeptic 25 Year Archives etc. so I hope to see him continuing to follow suit

And I agree that the tracks being the way they are represent an important legacy. Swift is an innovator and he influenced the genre in many ways. Even his quick sketches and jam sessions that found their way to some dubplate are dnb history at this point and are absolutely worthy of preservation.

Now that dubzid posted a Time version I hadn't recognised I decided to take a closer look at the differences between each known playout and dub

It's a bit different from how it's been established so far but I think this is correct

Mampi Swift - Time (Version 1) (1999)

This is likely the earliest version as it lacks the long intro (starts at the 4/4 kick bit), mix is less developed, and some of the bass is slightly pitched down at the start of the drop.

This is recorded from a dubplate cut for DJ SS labeled "Swift Time" and it has Long Life release version on the flip. Exact same plate as the one that dubdubdub clipped earlier

At this time there aren't any known playouts of this version

Mampi Swift - Time (Version 2) (1999)

This second version has a much longer intro, drums are layered a bit different throughout. Mix is more developed. You can tell this specific version by having the exact main bass from Version 1 except slightly pitched up, and this is the only version so far with more hi hats layered at the start of the drop (1:10 in the clip below). Plus many other small production changes throughout the track.

It was found on a dubplate cut for an unknown DJ. Clip from dubzid: https://hearthis.at/dubz-jy/010320-b/

Played at:
Mampi Swift & Mc Det @ Syrous Bitter Sweet, Toronto, Canada [1999-02-13] (clip below)
Mampi Swift @ Hysteria 24 - The Big Payback [1999-02-19]
Darren Jay B2B Mampi Swift @ The Junction, Cambridge (Warning - 'Junglist Mayhem For 1999' Pack) [1999-02-20]

Mampi Swift - Time (Version 3) (1999)

The track received another update sometime before June 1999.

The intro pad is a bit different and a repeating sound effect from Version 2 is removed. The most noticeable difference is the changes to the main bass - its groove is changed (less of a sustain and more of a wobble now), the distortion and pitch are also different. The hi hat is gone from the start of the drop. Plus again many other small production changes throughout the track.

This version was found on a dubplate cut for Micky Finn labeled "Time", again with Long Life release version on the flip.

Clipped from Mampi Swift @ Telepathy Insight At The Capital Club Leicester Square London [1999-06-04]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Time & Long Life drums, Long Life bass) (1999)

Previously this was marked as a version of Time, however upon closer inspection I think it's more likely to either be a version of Long Life or a separate track made out of bits that were used in other songs.

The Intro has a looping noise unique to this track and is arranged completely different from both Time and Long Life's intro. It plays a few bars of Long Life's drop, but then goes into a different unique drop with drums from Time and bass from Long Life.

here's a few more that I haven't seen clipped

Mampi Swift - Long Life (Pre-Final Version) (1999)

This one's slightly different from the one that released. The main bass doesn't have a lowpass at its start, some of the fills are arranged different. Small production differences.

I call this a pre-final, as there's a whole lost prototype track that was a precursor to this version.

Clipped from Mampi Swift & Mc Det @ Syrous Bitter Sweet, Toronto, Canada [1999-02-13]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Time & Long Life drums, hoover stabs) (1999)

Can't find this on any release. Uses drums from Time & Long Life and the hoovers from Time though it is a distinctly different track from both. The Bass is unique to this one also.

Clipped from Mampi Swift & Mc Det @ Syrous Bitter Sweet, Toronto, Canada [1999-02-13]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (2nd Strike bass, amen beat) (1999)
Can't find this on any release. Uses the main bass and a few other sounds from 2nd Strike and has an amen beat.

gameoveryeah has clipped these before tho I've made new ones as I think I figured out where one starts and the other one begins

The below are from Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl Vs Hardcore Heaven [1999-05-01]. The Swift set in this pack is recorded with a massive reverb over it, so it's hard to hear but there are two unreleased Swift tracks at the start.

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Long Life bass, pad intro) (1999)

Uses the Long Life bass, different bass pattern between the first and second drops. The intro has a pad with a fast notch effect similar to Long Life and Time. The sound effect that's looping at 1:13 and in later bits can be heard in The Kraft - The Bullet also

At 2:00 he can be heard trying to mix in another unreleased Swift song and it stops around 3:15.

Clipped from Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl Vs Hardcore Heaven [1999-05-01]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Time drums, monotone bass) (1999)

The 2nd track in the same set is yet another unreleased track with the Time drums. This one has a monotonous bass that plays the same note throughout and has a rising filter effect overtime.

Clipped from Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl Vs Hardcore Heaven [1999-05-01]

Unknown - Unknown (1999)

There is a third unconfirmed track in this set which may or may not be Swift.. I think it's within the realm of his sound but it would be an outlier as it's more complex than other tracks he produced around this time. Does have his signature 909 hat though.

Any info pls let us know

The 1-2K has several unreleased versions, here's 3 that I know of

Mampi Swift - The-1 2K (Unreleased Version 1) (2000)

Drums less busy on buildup and drop also - there's less layers and the tambourine is missing entirely. Big bass hit before the predrop that isn't in rls. Small production differences throughout.

A dubplate clip of this is still available on SoundCloud:

Clipped from Brockie B2B Mampi Swift @ United Dance 2000 Bagleys [2000-02-04]

Mampi Swift - The-1 2K (Unreleased Version 2) (2000)

Both the drums and bass are arranged differently at the start. Intro is missing the slow synth melody before the buildup. This synth melody plays over the drop in places where it doesn't in the release version. This one's pretty close to final.

Clipped from Mampi Swift @ Pure Science 2000 [2000-02-19]

Mampi Swift - The-1 2K (Unreleased Version 3) (2000)

I'm not sure if this was made before or after the release version was produced. The two known playouts were months after Version 2 got played which was already quite close to final, so there is a possibility that this is some kind of VIP.

Intro drums are arranged different and there's drums during what would normally be a drumless portion of the intro. There is a hoover sound not present in other versions that plays at random times throughout the track. The main bass is changed for a softer less distorted one that retains the same melody at first but switches it up a bit halfway into the track. Lots of other small production changes throughout the track.

There is a dubplate of this version cut for Kenny Ken labeled "I" (as in 1), with the 1999 unreleased Mampi Swift track 'Take Off' on the flip labeled "Charge".

Played at:
Nicky Blackmarket @ Dreamscape, The Rex Music Arena, London [2000-05-06] (clip below)

Unreleased Swift from the end of 1999 to 2000 that I haven't seen clipped yet

The Kraft - The Trend (Unreleased Version) (1999)

Unfinished version of The Trend. Less distorted bassline on a lower pitch, unfinished drums, different layout later down the track. Many production differences.

Played at
Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl [1999-11-12]
Mampi Swift @ Pure Science 2000 [2000-02-19]
Mampi Swift @ One Nation & Warning [2000-03-31]
Mampi Swift @ Pure Science 2000 [2000-02-19] (clip below)
Mampi Swift @ World Dance Phase 2 [2000-07-01]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Trend sounds, stabs) (2000)

Unreleased track made from the same drums and sounds that were used in Trend. Starts out with a stab drop and then uses some of the Trend bass in the second half.

Clipped from Mampi Swift @ Pure Science 2000 [2000-02-19]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Sustained bass) (2000)

Unreleased track with an erratic arp sound at the start which leads into a drop that consists of one bass note being held down the whole way.

Played at
Mampi Swift @ Pure Science [2000-02-19]
Mampi Swift @ World Dance [2000-04-20] (clip below)

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Fast riff) (2000)

Unreleased tune with fast hats and a fast riff. It eventually drops the riff for a clean rolling section. This is Swift for sure because one of his signature snares is used as a snare variation in the 2nd half.

Played at
Mampi Swift @ World Dance [2000-04-20]
Mampi Swift @ Pure Science [2000-05-13] (clip below)

Mampi Swift - Jaws VIP (2000)

Unreleased track that shares a few sound effects with Jaws VIP.

Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl [2000-11-11]

Mampi Swift - Unknown (Growling bass) (2000)

Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl [2000-11-11]

Mampi Swift - Unknown ("Fucka") (2000)

Unreleased track with a descending riff throughout.

It was found on a dubplate cut for an unknown DJ, labeled "Swift Fucka"

Clipped Mampi Swift @ Slammin Vinyl [2000-11-11] (clip below)

Mampi Swift - Feel Real (2000)

Unreleased track made out of the same sounds that were used in Feedback.

It ended up on a mixed Nicky Blackmarket CD where about 2 minutes of it can be heard in lossless and no MC.

Played at
