should be tom middleton, not tony. ooh, i just noticed that you already have an entry for tom middleton!

according to this old copy of atmosphere i have, ben grimm's real name is ben brodie.
-
excellent choice.
-
whoa!
-
that does sound like a good idea. i'm too broke to buy records right now, but i'd like to keep track of the releases i'm missing but want to keep tabs on.
-
written by luke murcutt on the forwardbound list:
graham ( invisible man ) started timeless, then around cat no. 8 sometime in
'94 he let brillo take over the label ( brillo used to work for vinyl
ditribution ). brillo is still the guy that runs timeless, and is a partner
in the running of oxfords d&b night "the source". as graham says "Brillo!
There can only be one Brillo! Nice bloke, but he doesn't make tunes."
-
this actually came out in 1999, not 2000.
-
but maybe it's possible to photograph the 12" sleeves on white background with digital camera. I unfortunately don't own one
but it's a thought.
yeah, that's what i was thinking, but i don't own one either.

nice nice.. all complete now!
just for the record.. since i see it as matrix vs dilemma everywhere.
it should be dilemma - spring box (matrix remix).. right :?:
i would just do that for simplicity's sake. for a definite answer you'd have to speak to someone who owns that record. :?
-
i knew that i'd have to do some graphic acrobatics, but taking 3 scans and joining them is beyond my skill. i can do it but it looks like garbage. as far as the label scans go - should i not bother scanning record labels on releases that have a picture sleeve?
-
i'm no post-whore!
-
-
update: i just hooked up the scanner and scanning is under way!
*edit: i just tried to make a 'composite' image of a full 12 x 12 cover. it looked awful, and because my scanner isn't big enough, i'd have to make 3 passes to make a full composite. i'm just going to scan the records with no cover art for now.

could very well be... it's not just drum & bass which gets released on that label nowadays is it? would be my guess as well that someone else runs it now.. can't seem to find a website or anything for more info :?
as far as i know it is strictly drum and bass.
taken from the stage one site (thanks guest):
GENETIC STRESS
Genetic Stress never strived to produce the ordinary, traditional sounds of Drum and Bass.
Instead, their sound has always pushed the boundaries as far as possible.
The results were first heard on the one-sided, limited edition of "Silver Haze", which was, and still is, very hard to find.
Examples of other experimental tracks are "High Flyers" featuring the vocals of Corelle and the unusual and highly innovative "Sparkling" remixed by Aphrodite.
Zed have brought a jazzy flavour to the label with their releases "Blue Nights" and "Slap".
Future Passed have given their Hip-Hop style to the Drum and Bass sound.
Toby Best has also written for the label under the pseudonym "Mission Control", producing in his characteristic atmospheric, light and tight, jump up style.
The label's most popular release to date is the Matrix remix of "Spring Box" by Dilemma, which was originally released on the Narcotix label.
It received the following review from Atmosphere magazine:
"One of the kings of laying out the maximum twist, just check the analogue rollin' techno flave in this, taking you through tunnels in what seems a never ending b-line mission.
Complimented by phat breaks arranged and edited two step.
Buy on sight."

this:
10 James Hardway Amanda Ghost Grow Justice Remix Justice
should be replaced with this:
10 Justice - Transit (Alaska & Paradox Remix)
i've got this cd so this is definitive.

yeah, it seems to be one of those neat forgotten eclectic labels.
-
i have no idea about the HEMP10 thing. i only have 2 or 3 releases on this label, and HEMP10 is the earliest one i have. as for hoax - i can't provide any more information. i'd wager that it is a remix by hoax, but there's no way to tell for sure. since hoax has already done a remix for the label, i'd say that it was another remix by him.
-
yes, just one record. i think this was just a label that didn't have enough funding to release any new records.
