Droppin' Science Volume 1

Does anyone know where Danny Breaks got the vocal sample from? Here's the track if you haven't heard it: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LVjbnzCMZ4w

The same sample was used on Fizzy Legs by Sons Of Silence: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rkWh4rdzSrE

Thanks.

The first time I heard the 'Ohhh baby' sample was in 1991 on Bizarre Inc's - 'Raise me eron's ascension mix'

If you skip to 2:13 you'll hear the sample, but I'm not sure if Danny Breaks' sampled that or went to the original source.

I haven't found any info on details for the original source, but if I had to guess I'd say it might be some version of Donna Summer's 'Love to love you baby':-

Also was the intro riff sampled on ratpack 'searchin for my rizla' and someone has used the 'come on' vocal at the end, not sure where though?

Peace in 09 :)

Thanks for the help! I think Breaks probably used the original source as both his and the Sons Of Silence sample were the same, slower speed with no drop in quality. I'll have a look into some Donna Summer stuff to see whether I can find the sample there.

Thanks again

Have a listen to some of the other mixes of Bizarre Inc's - 'Raise me' on youtube - I've now realised the original mix has a cleaner version of the sample.

The Maximum Height Mix has a longer version of the sample, but there's no sign on the vinyl of where the sample originates (there seldom is).

I'll keep looking.
