suevmcdonald Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 https://soundcloud.com/circleoffunk/circle-of-funk-ft-robert-owensThere's always a bit of a buzz in the air when Circle of Funk release a new track - you never know what these boys are going to do next, they are certainly creative in their approach, always looking to push the boundaries and dimensions of dance music. This time they have joined forces with house legend vocalist Robert Owens who featured on the Frankie Knuckles/Satoshi Tomiie 1989 classic "Tears", and teamed up with Larry Heard and Ron Wilson to form Fingers Inc. The first time I heard this track, the realisation of hearing something so rare made me tingle. The vocals on Invisible are ethereal, haunting and sublime, and when coupled with the skilfully crafted keyboard tones and dance beats, this track brings a divine musical experience that takes you from the dance floor to the chill out zone. The alternate Garage mix from Flex brings a totally different upbeat dimension to the song, which will have you tapping your feet and nodding your head to the bouncy pumping rhythm. The whole package has both an element of surprise and an intrinsic quality which is fast becoming Circle of Funk's hallmark. "Invisible", due for release on the Slapped Up Soul Label on 23/09/13, has all of the elements of a modern-day classic. Quote
