haste
Is it worth listing this as a source. I've got it here and just had a quick listen through and there are sooooo many samples in here it's unreal. We have plenty of them listed already from their actual sources but some, like the FX and stuff, are going to be much harder to locate. Waste of time to list them here or worth doing? Bit of history on the series here - http://www.zero-g.co...m?articleid=621 I couldn't see this listed anywhere else, apologies if it is already I'm pretty sure the CD is out of print now so I'm not against providing a link to it here if that can be confirmed. It's not too hard to find if you search the internet for it and want to listen, which I'd recommend
stenny
If we list the first one then we'll need to list the other two datafile CDs as well, mainly because they all have so many classic samples on each of them.
haste
Happy to list the other two as well. Maybe separate threads?
Python Blue
Sorry to pump a dead thread back to life; I just want to say that I feel we should try to compile a list for these sample CD's, given: 1) these samples have been recycled, albeit usually processed, in later libraries, some of which are modern 2) The oldskool genres still exist among current musicians, so they should know where any illegal samples came from. 3) Legitmix, a platform for possible legal sampling, exists, now. Here's some of what I've compiled so far in a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNMoV52XrYQ

And you should easily find the original sources out most of the samples by just using this forum. AFAIK Ed Straton just compiled stuff that was around anyway. He's well aware of the stealing aspect. You should read this interview: http://blog.timespace.com/2010/09/stepping-back-in-sampling-time-with-ed-stratton/
Weltall
You gotta admire Ed Stratton for his sampling capabilities. Compiling three whole CDs of fresh samples at a time of no internet is simply AMAZING.
