Ornette Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Check it - There was this wicked track dating from mid 1998 to 1999 that I was always positive was a Dillinja track. It had a lush chord intro (a little like the intro of "Light Years") and a grinding bassline and skippy beat. Now the thing is that is is almost identical to "Test Time" (Test Blue #3) release - but not quite! "Test Time" has the same beat as the song I am thinking of, a VERY similar bassline, and a very similar lush chord intro, but it is not the same track! Quote

Last two hears - Storm played it at (Sunday) Metalheadz @ Blue Note, Hoxton mid summer 1998. Then I heard it once on a london pirate radio, some obscure one, around May 1999. The rest of the show was rather dry with lots of 'also-ran' tunes being played, sloppy mixing... all of a sudden this one dropped, the MC went crazy! What does this mean? 1. dubplate only, never properly released, with a revamped version being released as the Test Blue #3 release 2. maybe it is a much older tune than I think, poss. 1996-97, and that the TB#3 released "Test Time" is a remix in the same sense that the TB#1 tune "Weapon Of Choice" release is a remix of "Threshold" 3. the mysterious TB#3 mispress listed in the database is the one I am thinking of? Especially if the DJ was playing pretty standard tunes for the rest of his set. It's cases like this where, although I'm not saying your information is oncorrect, I dont' want to enter this tune into the database as unreleased if it is not certain that it exists/did never come out Weapon of choice was a remix of Threshold? Maybe one day I'll hear a set or something with it in, until then... really want a clip of this tune!!! Quote
