Nice one, just heard this on last weeks Ministry of Sound drum and bass show http://www.4shared.com/mp3/X596cg_U/Spectrasoul_rdb_shoutout.html

About this one: Matrix - Listen Up / Dreamer / O.W.L.F. This links to the "Jamie Quinn" Matrix of later drum & bass fame, which is incorrect. On Boogie Beat Records, we're dealing with the "Jamie Williams" Matrix that also released under the moniker Kenetic or Kinetic. For proof, see the release's label scans on Discogs (who also separate this release from the ones of "D&B Matrix"), and scans from other Boogie Beat records by Kenetic.

Bumping this to add another voice... I would be very glad if RDB's massive database could also be browsed by release date. Would be fantastic for diving into a certain period, explore the beginnings of genres, etc.

Written by Charles Stepney & Richard James Rudolph Originally performed by Minnie Riperton in 1971 Lead vocals on 4hero version: Carina Andersson Will somebody wear me to the fair? (?) Will a lady pin me in her hair? Will a child find me by the stream? (?) Kiss my petals, weave me through a dream. [Chorus] For all of these simple things, and much more, a flower was born It blooms to spread love and joy, faith and hope, to people forlorn Inside every man lives the seed of a flower If he looks within he finds beauty and power Ring all the bells, sing and tell the people everywhere that the flower has come Light up the sky with your prayers of gladness and rejoice for the darkness is gone Throw off your fears, let your heart be free, at the sign that a new time is born (?) [Repeat Chorus] Aaah... wonderful, beautiful, uplifting summer favourite for the past 7 summers or so  I couldn't figure out what's in the background during the first 4 lines, and before the second time the chorus repeats... I can only make out single words in the former, while in the latter I think it's possible that there isn't anything to understand at all, considering that it often just degrades to meaningless syllables.

Just found out now  Freakin' sweet! I'm currently planning to re-organise my collection and really keep track of it all... I can't wait to use rdb's new features for that!

Sounds a bit like what Last.fm is doing. There, you can create a dynamic music station for yourself, in order to discover new music. All the tracks have been uploaded by the artists/labels themselves for promotional purposes, and they are being kept happy by the fact that you can neither directly choose what tracks are being played (only the general style by using some tags and artists as reference), and the tracks can only be streamed, not downloaded. I would find something like that on rdb to be interesting, but I guess the samples should have a higher priority now.

I had another close listen. You're right, its "Deep like Titanic" when the line is first used, but throughout the rest of the track everything but the voice is muted and it's only "Deep" I corrected the post accordingly, thanks. Could someone who's better at this than me have a look at the second paragraph? It's seriously messed up
