Aaaah but that was a bit later on mind, like 1986/87 or summat, once you get past 85 your hearing samples. The first half of the 80's were practically sample free, hiphop wise. That rock riff might be a re-playing of something else though, same way Sugar Hill replayed every break with session muso's.
