  1. Just watching Serpico now and saw this scene. Its absolutely, definitely 100% where it comes from.
  2. Great find. Random info - Smaoitím - means 'i think / I thought / I remember', but doesnt appear in any Irish/English dictionary because it's the Donegal irish variant on 'Smaoin'.
  3. Yeah, I was only referring to the tune at 1:50. Here's the PM I sent to Logic about it at the time (thanks for reminding me!).
  4. Its Conroy Smith doing the vocal from 'dangerous' on a 90's cut of the diseases riddim. You'll need to search around for it but its not radically different to any of the mid 80's+ versions. Might even be the Junjo cut. Intro from Jigsy king. No Stitchie involved from what I can hear.
  5. Finally found this white whale. Ranking Joe - Step it Down Shepherds Bush - Jah Guidance Records, 1980 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_JpZEVi-v0 Intro: 'Introducing to you musicalist like satellite jamdung style nah ranking joe the microphone...' As sampled @ 2:39 by FBD Project on 'She's So', FBD 1994 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlNFEsyq5PQ
  6. This was sampled on tons of ragga tunes as well.
  7. OK, Stimpy and Kola Nut were right. Lickwood means to bang the walls in appreciation:
  8. Yeah - its supposed to be a gunshot noise: 'pom pom'! The 'mind she shoot you with it' sample is from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brXZUMYouAQ The 'pom pom' could come from almost anything on gun inna baggy. I did a mix with a bunch of cuts a few years back: http://www.weareie.com/2007/02/blogariddims-16raggamortis-1.html
  9. Yeah, wish he'd upload em all and index all the files with each guest in the title.
  10. Will do. Blue large is preferred, but I think theyre all gone.
  11. Back in the tshirt game again. My old one got covered in a torrent of baby vomit and still doesnt smell quite right. Any larges left?
  12. "How-everrrr" sampled by Prime Attack, How many ravers Remix (SS remix) - Ruby Red in the intro and throughout:
  13. Twice no less: http://rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=55086&hl=%2Bn%26%2339%3Bsel+%2Bfik
  14. OK, thanks. Thats enough for me. Ive edited the discogs page. 2nd time Ive had to do for that for Tone Def in a week! I reckon the TONEDEF XXX cat numbers are all supposed to be reissues/duplicates/promos and this one was mislabeled. For example, this has the same cat number except for the DJ bit and its the same 12" except on normal vinyl. http://www.discogs.com/FX-The-Sound-Of-FX/master/119099
  15. Just picked up a copy of this (which isnt in the DB here btw): http://www.discogs.com/Black-Or-White-Open-Your-Heart-And-Listen-To/release/414525 And it seems to be the exact same pressing as this with a slightly different etching: http://www.discogs.com/FX-Hypocrite-Remix/release/630719 Can anyone else with a copy confirm?
  16. Nice find, but they really should have left it out. Its out of time and key.
  17. Ed Robinson - Rudey, Gangster Riddim, Sinbad/Sonic Sounds, 1992. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K6rMoacdmE "I saw you run and come and try cramp my style... Im gonna watch you flex and no I won't be vex" As sampled by at 2:28 by Hackney Hardcore: Rudie, Strictly Underground http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y069OxsWXRM
  18. This also contains a bit of the hitman vocal, and the bassline from the Tempo riddim (sampled I reckon). Just a reminder to myself to file these at some point.
  19. I know there's been some controversy about this kinda thing in the past, but I reckon this one's good to go. Freedom Blues/MPLA riddim, Roy Rogers, Studio One Coxsone, 1971(?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8GrmVVUcEw Riddim based originally on the Little Richard tune of the same name (1970) - megamix of various versions here: http://www.dailymoti...dom-blues_music As replayed by Jaco on Wicked Everytime, No Smoking, '95. You can hear the bassline most clearly at 3:24, along with some of the melody from the riddim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FS2je8_0vE BTW, the intro to this features a very clean melody xylophone from the 'mudd up' riddim, which along with the clean pan pipeish melody from freedom blues makes me think he replayed them both from scratch.
  20. The Beyond OST Main Theme/The Resonator, Twinkly piano and strings at 00:32 As sampled at 01:43 by Hyper On Experience: Ouiji Awakening, Moving Shadow 2 in 1 (PS: Ive just discovered that you can't embed time coded youtube vids here, which would be a nice feature to have...)
  21. Scientist - Straight Left, Heavyweight Dub LP Greensleeves 1980 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G08ps560sOY 22 secs in "You've got to ask me what is love" as sampled by: Radikal sound - what is love: http://youtu.be/qljpMmCM3ko & Breakage - Ask me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xjce0oOk-iI
  22. Same sample used by Alk-e-d on Shining Bright - Kniteforce Records http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydA7N2gJH6U
