Bhima Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 http://www.filelodge.com/files/room17/447846/1995_ID_13.mp3 Uses a very similarly processed break in there to Shy FX's stuff on his "Just an example" LP... I think it's him but I'm pretty sure I've heard all his stuff from that era... Quote
haste Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Think it might be this... http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/simple_tings/sim001 Would have to check but I'm not at home at the moment Quote
eXtreme Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 yeah, its either the one haste said or possibly : http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/s_o_u_r/sour018 definitely one of the 2  Quote
haste Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Ah yeah, I was gonna say that as well. It's definiteyl got the same b-line as the 2nd mix of Simple Tings but doesn't seem to have the intro sounds of it. Not sure if "Dubplate" off the other 12" is basically the same tune without the reggae intro Def one of the two Quote
eXtreme Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Confirmed : Simple Tingshttp://www.rolldabeats.com/release/s_o_u_r/sour018  Quote
sch_pr Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Nope, nope mates  It's not the SOUR018 version (two sides of this one are really really similar btw) it's actually the 'Simple Tings' version of the 2nd SOUR LP (Junglism - SOURLP002) (perhaps that version should be noted as a different one from the sour018) Quote
eXtreme Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 i disagree, its definitely SOUR018 & the other side is quite different, have you got this mixed up with something else? Quote
sch_pr Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 i disagree, its definitely SOUR018 & the other side is quite different, have you got this mixed up with something else? My SOUR018's b-side only have the basslines interverted from the a-side(i mean :on a-side we got 'b-line A' before the "one more time!" sample and 'b-line B' after this one,on b-side we got 'b-line B' before, and 'b-line A' after) And i'm positive for the album version, i just checked all those againthe sample that we have here is the 2nd track of the b-side of the 1st plate of 'junglism' Is it posible that there are several presses of SOUR018 ??? EDIT : mine is a 10' promo, and i see that there are several SOURxxxP entries in the dbI can do a clip if you want. Quote
eXtreme Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 very possible, mine is a 10" but a release copy. Have a listen here : http://www.hardscore.com/ids/SimpleTings.mp3 i fazed it over the clip & its exactly the same. Quote

Have a listen here : http://www.hardscore.com/ids/SimpleTings.mp3i fazed it over the clip & its exactly the same. Yup, so i guess we can add the promo release in the db,(i always thought my b-side was not so 'alternative', i know why now  )and this is the same version that the LP one. any interests in me posting clips anyway? Quote
eXtreme Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 yeah, please post the clips, i would like to hear the differences  Quote
Bhima Posted May 22, 2006 Author Report Posted May 22, 2006 Cheers guys! Yeah, this is definately the one i'm after:http://www.hardscore.com/ids/SimpleTings.mp3So that's the full release (not promo) of this then? http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/s_o_u_r/sour018 I just asked someone who has that LP and they did me this clip of the other version: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oekmn0 Quote
sch_pr Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I just asked someone who has that LP and they did me this clip of the other version: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oekmn0 On my LP I have the version that you posted at first  (but this is also a promo copy...) (i'll clip everything tomorrow to clarify) Quote
maxstile Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 I have this tune on CD [sOURCD 018] http://www.discogs.com/release/131754 For some reason, this is not in the RDB database The clip in the first post is track 1 on this CD which is just 'Simple Tings', NOT the alternate version. Before this CD i thought the 'alternate version' was the original. So I'm not sure what's happened here. Quote
sch_pr Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Here are audios of what i got : ----------------------------------------------------------SOUR018 (promo copy): a-sideb-sideNow you understand why i said they were quite similar  (i guess i should add this one to the db, but with which version titles ?...) -----------------------------------------------------------SOURLP002 (promo copy): b-side-2nd track Quote
