Yeah that was my thought on it, even though those bass hits right at the start sound just like something from DJ SS / Formation, its got a RK sound overall.

 

Checked most stuff on his offshoot labels, only one don't have / cant find audio for is Penny Black 10 - UFO Volume 3.

On a related note, Ornette, do you have any idea where that little piano has been sampled from or used before? It's been driving me crazy today, can't put my finger on it

Selectabwoy great mix on soundcloud! Stumbled on it when looking up info on 'Breakthrough', made my day to hear that

 

They sound clean to me, like played right off a synth, maybe the M1... who knows. Which is something else I think Ray Keith wasn't shy to do quite a bit in his tunes

 

One thing that marks it out as not being SS is the timestretch on the beats, which is not characteristic of his tunes at all (in fact there's only two I can think of and they're both from very early 93)

Ok thanks sounds entirely reasonable! Been racking my brains for some elusive tune but have come up with squat so I'll go with you on this
