Just had a look, it doesn't look like I ever had a Probe set but there was a Nut E 1 set... which looks like JJ has already linked.

Ones I have:

Swift / Ray Keith (nye 1992)

DJ Phantasy (nye 1992) - "...ray keith/swift/phantasy double pack from nye 92-93..." >> http://rolldabeats.c...192

DJ Randall (late 1993) - 1st birthday - 11/09/93?

LTJ Bukem (late 1993) - 1st birthday - 11/09/93?

Ray Keith (late 1993)

Nut-E-1 (late 1993)

DJ Rap (may 1994)

DJ Randall (nye 1994)

I've just grabbed this... Innersense & Groove Connection 'Spirits Of Inspiration' - 14.05.1994... guessing the DJ Rap must be the same night

bonus link:

Synchronome - Turn Up The Strobe (Lazerdrome Mix)

https://synchronome....n-up-the-strobe

Are there any others?

So, to cross reference

Were all these released as Seduction tapes? As there's multiple threads for some of these recordings. I note you mention here https://deepinsideth...march-1993.html "Some additional info about the numerous tapes: nearly all the tapes up to May 1993 were recorded at Seduction events, but after that they were from various events such as Arcadia, Innersense, and Voodoo Magic."

Couple of points

- the 14.05.1994 event shouldn't be titled 'Spirits Of Inspiration', this was just some sort of live project in the chill out room from house dj Rushmore. There's a couple other references to it on other flyers - namely NYE 1994 and March/April 1995. The night itself should just read: Innersense 'Groove Connection'

- The flyer for Fluid Motion 16.10.1993 shows Kenny Ken playing last, at 6am - but the recording has Randall at the end?

- Also a little unsure for the Randall date 08.10.1994 - when I bought that tape in 1995 in february (not expecting it to be a Lazerdrome recording) I didn't think it was a set I'd been there for, and I was at that 'Break The Bank' night (later I would swap it for the Fabio & Grooverider Dreamscape 8 tape)

Posted

So, two recordings with as yet unknown provenance... One (well, two actually) from NYE 1992, which blah states was issued as a double tape pack.

The other, Nut-E-1 from Xmas 1993, sounds to me something recorded over another tape, with a pirate recording at the beginning & the remainder of another set at the end, also a little remnant of something at the start of side B: "the music was new black polished chrome, and came over the summer like liquid night, the djs took pills to stay awake and play for seven days"...

Possibly something recorded & given out by Nut-E-1 himself? Might drop Jam One / blah a line to see if he can answer, as he used to frequent the Wax City shop where Nut-E-1 used to work.

The two NYE 92 tapes were actually two cassette singles from that night. I just got two tapes from the same night. They were the only official Innersense tapes I ever got!

The Ray Keith october 93 was a bootleg tape (probably from an original) from a dodgy clothes shop called The Rave Cave.

The Randall 94 one was one of the Seduction tapes.

The Nut E 1 tape rip wasn't mine. That was on that cdr that matey gave me at the once fabled Tarzan/Rolldabeats meet up drink party

- Corrected the title for the 14.05.1994 event

- Fluid Motion 16.10.1993 - the recording of Randall is from earlier in the night, Kenny Ken's set fades out and then the rest of the tape is filled with part of Randall's set

- 08.10.1994 - as well as the Seduction tape release there was a bootleg (?) sold of this with this date written on the inside of the inlay and it does fit with a Randall set from around this date, but it's also similar to other Randall sets from October 1994. Listening to the recording again it sounds like Grooverider and Dr S Gachet played on the night.

Do you think this could be 22.10.1994?

I note it's MC Dett who gives several shout outs to Grooverider, where as MC Fats repeatedly bigs up Marly Marl & Dr S Gachet... in fact saying over Awareness "As we show some respect for the Gachet just leaving"

On So Sweet, MC Fats states “Sounds 'the early morning DJ Randall" & "just injecting 'early morning vibe to keep you alive” and some other references to it being sunday / early morning are heard - "Shout to those of you who still have the stamina", "Shout to those 'a those who still wanna rave"... and then Fish comes on at the end seemingly to close off the night, like he does with the Nut-E-1 set from 25.12.1993

The flyer for Oct lists Dr S Gachet directly before Randall - who is listed last, on the 22nd. As well, there is a gap in the recording between side A/B, where it jumps from Renegade Snares (VIP) to Warning (Powder Mix), suggesting it being from a longer set - corresponding to the five djs listed on the 22nd, as opposed to the seven ~1 hour sets of the 'Break The Bank' night.

Given that from Feb/Mar the Innersense flyers start giving line-ups for each night, as opposed to residents plus 'guests', and explicitly states on May/June "All DJs listed in order of appearance.", it seems fair to consider these line-ups as accurate.

Also, the 8th seems a little early to be 'casually' rolling out Stamina in the mix... I note that Dream Team do a PA for it on the 12th Nov -

Randall - Innersense - April / May 1994

http://rolldabeats.c...=40#entry125163

– "Randall Volume 4 - Seduction (recorded at Innersense on either 30th April or 7th May 1994)"

I'm thinking this was 7th May 1994.

I'm 95% certain I was there for this set, the tunes are soooo familiar... I'm remembering it as being early / 'within the night', not particularily crowded, still before the big influx of people into the scene had really occured. The bit with "Let It Roll" in particular, I was by the big ramp at the back, watching the lazers

– Going by what I mention in the last post re. the line-ups, the 30th date with its seven dj line up would have had Randall on at the earliest 4am; where as the five dj line-up on the 5th, accounting for four 1½ hour sets and one 2 hour set, would have had Randall on either 2am / 2:30am... It definitely feels like a 'long' set, the pacing is different to a shorter one.

Innersense 'Groove Connection' - 14.05.1994

Sets released from the night:

Grooverider (Grooverider - Seduction Volume 3 single tape)

Grooverider

A1) Dead Dred - Dred Bass [Moving Shadow]

...

I've been struggling for some time to reconcile this with what I wrote in the R.I.P. Lazerdrome article -

"... I’ll never forget the time Bryan Gee played Dead Dred – Dred Bass to us for the first time. Thoughout the entire song the place was completely still – absolutely noone was dancing! I was standing infront of a speaker towards the front right of the stage..."

Going by the flyers, I always figured this must have been 25th June, where Bryan Gee had a mid-way set but that would have been long after many djs had already started playing it... Was it Mickey Finn?

I definitely still remember the occasion, it was so out there, it was like people literally didn't know how to take the tune. I'm thinking now it was someone saying to me it was Bryan Gee, but then after discovering that it wasn't, and being annoyed about it (I can remember who it was too, lol)

The 14th May date certainly accounts for both names, but with Bryan Gee doing the opening set.

If I ever get round to updating the article I'll make that correction

It could be 22/10/94, but there's no way to be certain without more info. MC Fats says "as we big up the Grooverider inside" and Det also mentions Bryan Gee a few times. Probably unlikely Grooverider would be at an event he wasn't playing due to the number of bookings he had every weekend. It's tough to be sure on the exact date for this set when we don't know what DJ changes happened when some of them weren't able to play. There's a review of the 08/10/94 night which says Ray Keith was in Italy and replaced by Probe and I think Peshay had stopped playing out due to illness by October 1994 and so another DJ would have replaced him on 15/10/94. I'll see if I can find any other reviews from October 1994.

Stamina is played on sets from the end of September so it wasn't too early for Randall to play it on 08.10.1994. The one tune in the set that's possibly a little early for 08.10.1994 is Stakka & K-Tee - Brockin' Out as the earliest tracklists that's on are from the end of October 1994.

Posted

– "Slipmatt - Seduction Vol 5 (Recorded at Innersense 'Fluid Motion' 16th October 1993)"

I note the discogs listing says this

https://www.discogs....elease/10104116

"Side B Features DJ Randall But Isn't Credited."

Can you clarify on this?

It's only Slipmatt playing on the tape. MC Reality gives a few shout outs to Randall and Goldie during the set so maybe the submitter misheard it and thought Randall was the DJ?
