Ornette Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 spotted this one in Logic's link to the http://xeon4.xeonserver.net/~bbww/samples/breakspack/ as well... was thinking of writing a bio for MC Duke... Jump Up Crew - Come Again (Labello Blanco, 1993)Progression - On A Rubbish Tip (Ruff Tuff Wicked Stuff, 1992) i think it may be same break forHyper-On Experience - Lords Of The NUll Lines (Foul Play Remix)but haven't checked just yet Quote
Ornette Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 Also heard in... Awesome 3 - Don't Go (Kicks Like A Mule Remix) that should help as an example. Quote
Ornette Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Think we can call this break a 2nd generation break too - based around "Funky Drummer" Quote
Phokus Posted December 21, 2005 Author Report Posted December 21, 2005 Yeah, true. I'll edit the title. Cheers Ornette Quote
errorist Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 "I created the drums on 'I'm Riffin' just using a bunch of samples from my collection, sorry I cannot remember exactly where each one came from but they are individual samples then played in my sequence with my scratch and a roll. I remember the tambourine sample is more than one beat and on reflection now I would probably make it a swing beat sequence instead." - Simon Harris Quote
Ornette Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 :ok: Good stuff! Don't think it is much more than a re-sequenced "Funky Drummer" - although no doubt Simon Harris beefed it up wtih other hits and samples Quote

Best breakbeat ever if you ask me. Btw the drumroll is taken from The Headhunters - God Make Me Funky Quote
Lynxx Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 can anyone reupload this break, please? Quote
Lynxx Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 thanx for break) _____________________________________________________________ why did ask for this one? i found the information on discogs.com that some sample from MC Duke – I'm Riffin' is taken for The Prodigy - "Everybody In The Place (155 And Rising)" (Experience, 1992) but the vocals are taken from "music of life - hustler convention" live LP ant the break is not the same as in MC Duke – I'm Riffin' (or i'm mistaken?).so, is this information correct? (for example, it's also said that "Jericho" samples 'Doomsday Of Rap' by Hijack, but the vocal sample is taken from 'Badman Is Robbin''). Quote

PrAnG! Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 The "I'm Riffin" track by MC Duke uses two breaks. The main musical sample is 'Funky Like A Train" by Eddie Grants old group called The Equals and the the recreated Funky Drummer drum pattern kick and snare is Funk Inc. - Kool is Back Quote
Roel H Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 Also used in several ragga jungle tunes Like The Dream Team - Stamina (Suburban Base Records 1994)Da Maytrix - Come een (Kute Kutz 1995) Quote
Anthony Blore Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Not sure if this is any use as this thread is old now but a clean version of the break can be found here Cheers Quote
