Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Nice One! Also: Second tune is - Flytronix - Ricochet [Moving Shadow]The one with the "when I put a big nine to your brian" sample is - Bug Kann - 9MM (I think)As for the rest, I knew a few but the names escape me right now. 0=0 would know a few of these for sure. Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Oh, and the Green Remix was released. The clip is from an old tape of a jungle chart in 1995... The DJ announces it as "The sounds of Red One" but Red One didn't make anything in 95 according to the database... Quote
Ornette Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Hmm I like the sound of a couple of these. "Green" Remix eh? Hmm. Number #4 sounds extra dark, late 1995, early 1996 style hard/tech step. "Let that shit ride", indeed... S.O.U.R. sourced? "big 9 to your brain" sample from Masta Ace - Brooklyn Battles... someone already mentioned this in Samples forum? Like the sound of number #9 too. Are these all 1995 tracks? No wonder. I tuned out of D'n'b for much of 1995 you see, much of that year musically was unknown for me. A shame. Keep me posted! Quote
haste Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 The first track could actually be the Colour Series Red B side. Green A is a remix of that track and that's where I recognise the vocals and key damples from (as well as the obvious Formation style beats) but I haven't listened to the original version for years. The later track that I said was Red was the A side on that 12". http://www.rolldabeats.com/label/formation_colour_series edit: I recognise loads of these tunes so the names will probably come back to me over time. Pretty sure that #4 is Let That Shit Ride by D-Bridge on Phat Trax Quote
