Ornette Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Hey - There are a number of really good quality drum & bass tracks in this game that have had me wondering for a while who could be the producers behind them. Take Ibuki stage - that sounds like it could be a Reinforced production from 1994 period... The Gouki (or Akuma) stage is a heavy piece of amen that sounds too acomplisheed to be just an anonymous producer in Japan emulating some old skool style d'n'b. This is the crux of the matter - they sound so authentic, I am convinced its some well known & loved names from the d'n'b halls of fame who havve contributed to this game. For instance the Gill stage - this dark, dark out tune has all the hallmark of Bizzy B circa 1993 about it! This is sinister darkcore at its best, believe me. Not to mention the Ken/Alex stage, with it's use of the "Here Come The Metermen" break, the Elena stage, with its old skool house style to it (the same kinda happy house vibe to be found in a few old skool hardcore tracks) Well if anyone is to know its the people here at RDB... Its out in the UK on the Xbox (Yah! Boo! ), or go my route and buy it for PS2 on Japanese import (US import if you get the SF Aniversary Collection) Quote
STG Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Heh, now you're making me think! I don't recall (especially for the arcade CPS-3 game board) Capcom getting UK d&b artists for their tracks, I believe most of their stuff was produced internally or by game soundtrack producers located in Japan, but I could easily be wrong about that! The only company I know off the top of my head that did stuff like that was Namco with the Ridge Racer series: for example Lennie De Ice & Ray Keith did a bunch of remixes for that game. http://www.discogs.com/release/499167 But maybe tracking down the OST could yield better answers, if you're familiar with importing from JPN you shouldn't have too much trouble locating that. Good luck. EDIT: Now that I think about it, that game Forsaken for the PSX had the entire soundtrack done by the guys at Botchit & Scarper, I remember looking for that sound track for a while and gave up. But I don't believe that game was made in Japan. Quote
theorie Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Roll Cage, Wipeout(?) and GTAIII all had loads of dnb on their soundtracks from established artists. Hey Ornette; I'd be REALLY interested in hearing clips of those tunes. Where did you get the game from? Quote
theorie Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Does this version have the game you speak of on it?http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=search&...h&Go.x=0&Go.y=0 Quote
