I can confirm a US release of Vol. 2 exists (Hardstep D&B) as I have that. Kind of strange, I never found these in shops here until years later (about 2000-ish), and there were always a lot of copies of Vol. 2, 3 and 4. Can't remember if I ever saw Vol. 1 (which I guess was Innovative Intelligent D&B). I agree, the renamed titles of these comps threw me for a loop when I first saw them since I owned them already on vinyl...

Yeah, those three Youtube vids are from the same WL mentioned above. Has his style of production written all over it, and it's similiar sounding to his Tales of Darkness WL release. Not too sure on the track names, mine has nothing handwritten on it.

The only tracks on that CD that had a vinyl release are Wicked Tune and All The 24-7 Massive by the Genesis Crew, Jungle Love (Pt. 2 Vocal mix) by Dextrous & Hyper Man, Stone Cold Cutie (under a different name) and Love & Devotion by the NE Heartbreak Crew. The track Desire is exclusive to the sampler. Then we have this Dextrous EP called "Land of the Giants" which I haven't heard before, but I'm guessing it's probably the WL press of the Dextrous & Hyperman LOTG release since it could be considered 4 mixes of the same tune. Wouldn't mind some confirmation on that.

I think it's safe to say that Jimmy Cliff plate is being confused with an Asha Senator tune of the same name and similar cat#, unless someone can prove me wrong. I've never seen that Jimmy Cliff remix before. The correct catalog number etched onto the vinyl is SFD001, and it's Lickwood Syndicate featuring Asha Senator - Harder They Fall (3 mixes). I've stumbled on this in the past looking for information regarding a particular release and I don't think it's someone's collection, I think someone used the old rdb design, sorted everything by year (in this case '95 which iirc you were able to do in that version of the site), and copy/pasted it into an Excel spreadsheet. It's layout is nearly identical to the older rdb format, complete with some of this databases takes on catalogging specific releases (like DOPE26/DOPE26MP). Even some of the irregular label listings match up perfectly, like look at Precious Materials in that spreadsheet. The first few releases are all up there but it's missing the 5th release for some reason. Punch up the same label in rdb and take a look at the date for that same release. Kind of a telling sign where they got that information from right there. Why they did this other than to see how many releases came out in '95, I have no idea.

IQ009 exists, I have this one. I'm 99% sure it's a DJ Gunshot release although every copy I've seen has been a WL. Nice 2 tracker. As for HIT001/RIQ001, I have both and they are the same tracks only played at different speeds (HIT001 is at 33 while RIQ001 is at 45). I'm not too sure which release came first, although they both aren't to be confused with the repress that also came out as RIQ001 in '04. A user from discogs commented that he got his copy of RIQ001 back in '94, if that was before HIT001 came out I have no idea. What's interesting is that they both have the exact same label, so you'd have to check the etching/playback speed to know which one you have.

A couple of people I've ran into over the years mentioned they've had that (or one of the other later IQ releases that seem the hardest to track down), sadly, none would part with it. :sad: Don't even know what the tune sounds like on that. Edit: Hmm, just noticed a lot of those IQ releases have the wrong cat# in the database: looks missing an extra "0" for each release, and I don't think there's "technically" an IQ etched "IQ004" (at least not in the etching or on the label, Marvellous Cain's Hitman/Believe It release should only be etched HIT001 or RIQ001). Kind of figured that HF46 was put in there, cat# makes sense and seems to mimic the other releases. Shame since other than the singles there's a few elusive tunes on that 2xCD that were never released on vinyl... Guess we can scratch that one off the list, anyone want to share info on the other 4?

That's interesting, it's definitely not from the Formation Colours Series, as the one that's on discogs (BLACK007) is indeed the same record. Confirmed this when that particular copy of BLACK007 (with the large "1" on it) was up for auction, was a bit surprised when I heard the audio as it's identical to 12MNG828DJ. I have the "Promo Only" copy (12MNG828DJ) that doesn't have BLACK007 in the etching, but I'd like to check this out one more time when I get home. I don't recall seeing it there, so I'm guessing this probably had a few different pressings.

Wild guess, but maybe intoxxxikate = PSG? I'd even ask him why the B-Side of Breakin' World Records #2 (a Timmi Magic & PSG release) is the B-Side of DECI001 (even has the same etching in the vinyl).

The later Rough Tone catalog needs some work. My WL copy of RT011 has Sling Wide handwritten as the track title on one side as well as Sling Wide (Original) and Gang★ handwritten on the other. From what it sounds like it's actually two mixes of Sling Wide, not Gang★. RT014 and RT015 are actually reversed. MC Lenni is the one who did RT015, which has two mixes of Make Some Time. Mizra did RT014, which is a 3 tracker. Both records have the right catalogue numbers on the printed label and correspond with the etchings, but the artist and tracks printed on both labels is flip-flopped. JJ, was there anything listed under RT013? Do you have a copy of that list?

I'll confirm this when I get home (unless someone beats me to it). It also got a labeled press, which surprised me to say the least, all the copies I've ever seen of this have been the typical Jet Star WL w/ stamped info. Wish I saved that auction...

Yep, there's no such beast unless there's a labeled copy with that incorrect cat# on it, which for this release I've only seen this as either a pure white or one side white/other side Boom Tunes artwork label. It's like after every 2 releases they'd change the cat#'s. Slightly annoying to catalog correctly, I just copied and pasted that data above from my Excel file, thus the numbering up front to keep it in order. No problem.
