blah
following a quick discussion at the rdb piss up I am gonna do a ruff guide to known pirate radio stations and could do with some help as I did a few lists years ago but not all I can remember are on them plus loads from areas I don't know about. only need simple imput like name:freq:area:known years running (not essential but helpful)basic style genre: (most rave stations had chilled or oldschool/house reggae/dub on sundays)known dj's: (before some got famous) any other info like pics, interviews, articles in newspapers/magazines is all welcome. It may take a LONG while before I do anything with it (may try to get it in rdb some how) but it needs to be done as it is a completely forgotten pastime that needs to be archived before it's completely forgotten because of internet as we ALL have been affected by their free services in the past and they deserve some reconition for their time on air. haste
STATION , AREA, FREQ, YEAR? , E.T.CHart fm,London,90.4fm,95Became Face FM after the legit Heart FM launched. I'm sure Hart was on in 94, I used to listen to it back then. Face FM then went on to become Interface on the net. Was run by Mad Ash, who was a wicked DJ! I think we should definitely work on this section. It would a really cool addition to the site and part of something that I was thinking about yesterday that we could be incorporating into RDB - an "articles" section, or something similar. Was thinking about Ornette's Lazerdrome write up that he did and thought that we could have a section that had info on similar things, this would be a great addition. It might be nice to have some other non dnb pirates too? edit: Rude awakening is written Ruud Awakening

A mate up there also lived opposite the site they were using as an ariel and said they were getting busted a lot before they got really shut down and he hasn't heard from anyone he knew to do with em since. raw fm apparently was the don fm massive before changing to don fm. the freq will be on the early awsome records someware in the run out grooves. ho hum, this station has nothing to do with me honest  http://forum.breakbeat.co.uk/tm.asp?m=1968128405http://www.myspace.com/ragefm
Java
Perhaps we could start a new thread showing which pirate radio stations are currently operative, I find it deathly hard to find a pirate radio station in my area!! And perhaps we could sort it out by area too, such as London, Midlands, etc.. If anyone knows of any decent West London ones (particularly TW5 area) I'd love to know!! Also . . . did the thought of an RDB station ever get thought up?!!!!!
sch_pr
Also . . . did the thought of an RDB station ever get thought up?!!!!!Great idea !actually, I already though about a thing quite similar. A webcast which would play member submitted mixes. With a few simple rules (time limits for the submitted sets, encoding quality, ...), it could be fun  ...But a live radio would be even better

GORDY
Hi, Gordy here.Looking at your list you may be interested to know that: JOCKS CAFE 101 FM was in operation in 1991, they were also known as DESTINY FM - playing Belgium Hardcore / UK Hardcore, rave - techno.I have a couple of recorded audio tapes of the above stations.I am also compiling a classic CD-R from most tracks that were played on the night I recorded in 1991 - Basically trying to re-live those classics days. I would like to track down DJ Groove who was the main man behind this station - he worked in the 1990's for Royal Mail as a postman. Does anyone know where he is now? :help: Not sure how long the station(s) were running for. Other Dj's name = Easy E. Hope to hear yours and other fellow buddies response soon
