Brass Pigeon Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 The tracks from Form & Function 2 (both CD & LP) that have been released previous to the album (Ni Ten Ichi Ryu remix, Sidewinder remix, Thunder remix afaik) show the wrong year of release in artist overviews (Special Forces, Photek, Clipz, etc). They show the year it was released for the first time (2006 en 2005, not the year of the actual Form & Function 2 (CD & LP 2007) corresponding with the cat#. I hope this is readable lol, I'm having difficulties explaining it. Quote
thijs Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 That's not a bug, that is a feature! That reflects the difference between release year and track year. The track always gets the year it was first released in. Makes so sense putting a 2007 year to a ragga jungle tune from 1995 just because it was used on a 2007 compilation. Quote
Brass Pigeon Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 Are you sure (well obviously you are but bare with me)Ni Ten Ichi Ryu remix is listed 3 times in Photek's list. Yes, Ni Ten Ichi Ryu's remix was originally released in 2006. Therefore just because it got a rerelease on Form & Function 2 this year doesn't mean the first release year of the track changes in the artist view. The benefit of this is when you get a classic track rereleased on say a bad company cd of old tracks, in the artist view The Nine is still listed as 1998 and not 2007, 1998, 2001 etc. This makes it easier to find out when a track was first released and if it is a rerelease.
