This is a really hard break to ID in Skeleton Crew tune! :(

Hi people,

 

In this old tune by the Skeleton Crew there are a few breaks that layer up on top of each other. I have worked out most of them, except at 0:06 there is some sort of percussive / top end break that layers over the first break......what is it?!

I dont think that's another break on top but just extra percussion or something. sounds like Ethnic chime samples or something

Ahh we was discussing this before. What might help is if we listen to the remix. We can hear the 'cymbals' ride and the 'shakers' (almost) clean at the 3:08 mark

'cymbals' seems to a 1 bar loop that is retriggered on its 4th quarter note (on the second pass)

'shakers' - is this the Funky Drummer stenny mentions in the other thread??

Almost sounds like it could be half time/detuned. Reminds me a bit of a sound in Oaysis - Incredible bass.

Nice....I didn't spot it in the remix before. Can definately hear it is a break but I am still none the wiser as to where it's from. Don't think I've ever heard it before.
