  3. http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/jungle_therapy/jtr011 not convinced the info in rdb is correct after seeing these.. someone investigate`? http://spoox.org/rdb/00_radio_bomb_vs_candy-jungle_therapy_11-(jt11)-vinyl-2006-side_a.jpg http://spoox.org/rdb/00_radio_bomb_vs_candy-jungle_therapy_11-(jt11)-vinyl-2006-side_b.jpg
  4. according to some mp3s.. label Mas I Mas http://www.rolldabeats.com/label/mas_i_mas catno MIM002 year 2004 artist Mas I Mas tracks A1 - Dune (DNB remix) B1 - 'Bout the Drugz B2 - Dune (Version) B3 - Bonus Loops dunno how well it adds up to this; http://www.breakbeatarea.com/bba.php3?id_article=24 http://www.breakbeatarea.com/bba.php3?id_article=54
  5. Well seeing it is just an etching, and the label says "RAS 1" I'm quite sure you should stick to that catno, but it could be interesting enough to note as a comment I guess.. I don't have that many original pressings, so I don't know for the rest, but the RAS 2 says "RAS 2" so I guess Rebel MC made up his mind by that release
  6. Just noticed, the RAS 01 etching actually says "LION 7 A" and "LION 7 AA" .. Obviously the label says "RAS 01", and the LION series originally stopped with LION 3 (or X1, whichever came first), so I guess they originally had more of them planned. (Yes they reused the LION catnos later).

    KW001

And it's not a female vocal, it's the late great Garnett Silk
  8. It's not Alty "Fuzzy Jones" Salmon you're thinking of? He must've done a million intros to tunes Only clip I found was from this Red Rat tune.. Alty's the guy in the intro.. http://www.maximumsound.co.uk/files/slow_jam_56k.mp3

    CONGONATTY10

AFAIK, they're the "Herbsman" and "Herbsman 2" tracks from the previous LP: http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/congo_natty/cnlp1 ("Sensis Crisis" is from the name of the original reggae tune, "Sensimilla Crisis", by Nerious Joseph, which was released as "Ses Jungle" on Natty.. Maybe they got confused somewhere along the way)
  10. Did some scans over the weekend + noticed that there also were extra etchings on the 12s.. http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/congo_natty/ras02 AA: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras2aa.jpg A: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras2a.jpg text side = "ras 2aa-1" pic side = "ras 2a-1" "judgement" http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/congo_natty/ras03 AA: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras3aa.jpg A: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras3a.jpg text side = "ras 3aa-1" pic side = "ras 3a-1" "2 black 2 strong" http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/congo_natty/ras08 AA: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras8aa.jpg A: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras8a.jpg text side = ras 8aa-1" pic side = "ras 8a-1" "peace to the zulu nation" "music house"
  11. http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/mango/12mng821 has the wrong picture - that's actually the vinyl label of http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/mango/12mng821dj .. here's proper pics for 12mng821: X-side: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/12mng821-x.jpg Y-side: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/12mng821-y.jpg http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/mango/cidm821 lacks scans, so here they are: cd: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/cidm821-cd.jpg inlay: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/cidm821-inlay.jpg

  16. there was a bootleg at one time with just "snowman" etched on it and 2 of the tunes from the full 4-tracker... think IMO was involved
  17. And some other notes: "dubplate 1" aka "ras dub 1": 1. Didn't this one have "ol skool ting" etched? It's a black label 10"... The one I saw had "RAS DUB 1" etched one one side atleast - don't remember the other side. 2. Are these the same 10"s, or did one with "dubplate 1" come first, then "ras dub 1" come as a repress or edition afterwards? 3. As for the name and release year of it, the "Jah Sunshine" title I think eventually came around when the "12 years of.." album with Tenor Fly was released, as one of those vinyls say.. JAH SUNSHINE - 1994 RUFF NECK JUNGLE ..and I guess that was the intended title for the tune. I don't think I've ever seen a proper title for the "Calling" tune. I think the "I Give You" title was just something people came up for it because there wasn't a known title. Same as with "Calling".... They're just exerpts from the vocals. Maybe adding an alias for track names would solve the whole issue
  18. I have a bunch of cover scans up here: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures.phtml Including this one: http://www.congonatty.com/pictures/ras7-label2.jpg The RAS7 version there has a short bit of the Jah Cure vocals from "Let Jah Be Praised" in the intro, but the rest focuses more on the "somewhere deep in the jungle" samples and "so we set it, seh no bwoy cyaan take it" samples from "Set It", but then reverts back to the Jah Cure vocals for the last part of the tune. So.. There you have it A kind of mix of "Let Jah Be Praised" and "Set It".. Hence "Jah Set It" lo-fi clip (full): http://www.congonatty.com/audio/ras07_a_ja...judah_remix.mp3

    MyRDB in beta

difficult does not neccessarily mean impossible .. i've been doing a few ninja tricks indexing my own mp3s and trying to link stuff up against tarzan in the past.. if you were able to, say - paste a bunch of catalog numbers into a text area and have a fuzzy search done against that list, it would be possible to atleast by some sort of easy preview interface add those that match and or refine and adjust/normalize the catno searches... i'll see how bored i get.. gonna try to finish off the xmlrpc/xml/json query interface first but at any rate: an .xls export would definitely be handy in case you want to have a local list for your own offline abuse/print/whatever.. but first on my wishlist would be a set of checkboxes next to each search result with a "add selected" button below..
  21. There's 2 Congo Natty versions of the tune: 1 released on the 2001 LP (Lion in the Jungle), called "Sess Jungle" http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/congo_natty/cnlp2 1 released on the 2001 CD (Tribute to H.S.I.), called "Sensi Crisis" (or assumed to be called that since it was without a tracklisting) http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/congo_natty/cncd1 The first is aka "the London town mix", as it has some Big Ben samples in it, and is the one you claim isn't in RDB

    Bounty Hunter

i think that's true, as i've heard the same myself a few times... however the "bounty hunter" guy in i.e. congo natty's "emperor selassie i" tune is someone else i think.. probably someone rebel hooked up with in JA http://www.greensleeves.net/bio/biogboun.html Somewhere else it just says he changed the name because "bounty killer" is less common that "bounty hunter"...

    Artbreaker

The only way to know is by asking Neil, isn't it? http://www.thecelsius.ch/ http://www.shapermusic.com/ Which tunes are you claiming are copies? Jungle by nature samples from other tunes, and I know I get upset myself when I hear raggacore sampling jungle classics, but then I realize things has just come full cycle and I shut myself up *g* Ewok, is that you from ircnet #jungle?
  24. hmm long time, no clips of the Sade-sampling one *G* any chance now?
  25. I just remembered I wrote a little utility that I've used when trying to figure out lyrics: http://spoox.org/projects/lyricshelper/ It's just a simple little notepad-ish application that lets you remote-control WinAmp without having to change focus between apps. (i.e. pause, jump 1 or 5 seconds back/forward) It also allows you to loop a region, or insert timecodes (alt-i) and optionally jump to the nearest timecode (alt-g). In addition you can assign 3 bookmarks that are alt-1/2/3 hotkey-accessible. It's not really magic, it's just a less anal way of doing things (If anyone has any feedback or stuff, just PM me here.....)
