haste Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 it's a wicked sample man "ZASA!!!!!!!" Quote
Guest Guest Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 it's a wicked sample man "ZASA!!!!!!!" what side (mix) do you prefer? Quote
theorie Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 If you listen close the full sample is: "How are you joey?BANG BANGza za" It's from the scene where Andy Garcia shoots Joey Zaza from a horse he is riding disguised as NYPD.And the "I command this family!" is from the next scene. I don't know why I said it was boring because I hadn't even seen it! I just finished watching it and I thought it was wicked! Quote

Ornette Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Just wanted to point out a something about the RELEASEDversions of this tune... The samples were altered!!!??? (For legal reasons, maybe? hmmm....) On the ORIGINAL dubplate, someway thru the opening stretch the beat DROPS OUT and it goes: "Showtime!" This is especially odd because if you listen closely (or just mix it, even) you will see that there is a 'missing' couple of bars! This is where the "Showtime" sample WOULD have been. ALSO:the released version goes (in timestrech):"I-i-i ... c-o-m-m-a-n-d ... t-h-i-s" WHEREAS the dubplate version has the FULL (& non-timestreched) vocal:"I command this family!" (Yet the "Zar-zar" vocal sample bit REMAINS IN FULL!!! Hmmm.) Quote
haste Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Yeah, there are a couple of versions of the track. In fact, the two versions we have in the database are very slightly different as well, from what I remember. The BONE release I think is slightly more similar to the original dubplate version than the Rampage releases one Quote

Ornette Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 No need to quote my ENTIRE post just to refute my assertion! Well it may be case that BONE1 release has put the original dubplate on the market after all these years, which is a good thing. But my comments above certainly releate to both the original instances of this tune, the Priority One album & album sampler I have just added details of the album for submission at long last. Check here: RDB Forum > Additions & Corrections > Releases > Rampage - Priority One, Full album details!!! Quote
theorie Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 this tune also has the godfather theme in it: http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/kickin_...und_sound/kus07 it's a remarkably poor tune though. Quote
