The_Manipulator
Artist: The TechniquesTitle: StalagYear: 1973 That horn riff... As far as I know (well, as far as I've been told that is ) this is the original. But since it's used such a lot and therefore pretty difficult to know what people actually sampled, just put everything that samples the riff in here... Used in:DJ Dextrous & Rudeboy Keith - "Wicked" [suburban Base] Submitted by: Rafael Humberto de Lima Moretti
haste
I had been adding reggae riddims as a category in their own right. It's kinda hard to pin them down to one particular song although you could always list the studio who produced it (in this case Technique) as you have here. this is how I had been doing this http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36536http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36535http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36577
free4orm
Tango - Project 1 (Remix). From the Powerplay Volume 1 compo on Formation, 1994. Same sample as in "Wicked", horn riff and the basic riddim loop. Honestly dunno if this is a remix of the first Tango EP on F Project... does anyone know? Did it use the same sample? droid
If you want to check which version of this is being sampled - the original dub has a rhythm guitar running through the horns at the intro. The more widely used 80's version (produced by Winston Riley at Techniques) is the one used for bam bam and has clean dubbed out horns in the intro. droid
A snatch of the first note of this can be heard on this tune, coming in at about 1:47: Which is apparently Potential Bad Boy - 'Flash your lighter' on Ibiza 38.
