humana Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 DJ Hype - Dub Plate Fever Vocal: 'Jungle' This is from Mowgli's phrase 'It's not your jungle!' I seem to recall another D&B tune using this sample around the same time, but I'm not sure if it was just a remix of this track, or a separate tune. Anyone know? Quote
haste Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Also sampled in this, I think http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/mister_men/mr01 Jungle House Crew - King Of The Jungle [Formation] (& remix)"Now I'm the king of the swingers, the jungle VIP" etc. Quote
tyranny Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/african_dope/dope1201/ Also sampled in this rather obscure South African release, the same Louis Prima vocal as in the Formation release referenced in Haste's post. Tune also samples a bit of one Baloo's lines "it's going to take brains, not brawn *unintelligible* you'd better believe i got plenty of both" Quote

haste Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Was this also sampled in Shimon - Predator? "I want to stay in the jungle"I don't recognise that sample from Predator! Quote
Logic Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 errr....No? I don't have the tune with me and I'm sure I'll forget when I get home! I thought it was Predator... But whatever tune I'm thinking of, the sample only appears once (iirc) so it's easy to miss! Quote
Logic Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 Ah! It was Amazon II - Deep in the Jungle that I was thinking of. The Youtube vid on the release page at 04:30 -- "I want to stay in the jungle" Doesn't sound much like Mowgli (sounds like a British woman actually ), but Mowgli is always talking about staying in the jungle in the movie so... Edit: 150 years later, I can confirm this is from the Jungle Book Must have had some Mandela effect going on. Listened to the Amazon II tune and yes the sample is clearly not from the 1967 movie. Could be from an audiobook or something... The scene where Mowgli's chatting to Bagheera that Ian mentioned above is definitely used on Ed Rush - I Wanna Stay In The Jungle Coco Bryce used it more recently, I think on 'Deep In The Jungle' Quote
