Ornette Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQHdIIrpMqQEDIT: oop, embedding disabled on this one link (RcPVE2Z_dZI)EDIT: New link added (GQHdIIrpMqQ) - 2/1/2021 Awesome! I been trying to track down this one for a while - see here:RDB Forum > Additions & Corrections > Sample Sources > Sample IDs > valley of the shadows ...the break has this funny drop-off in volume in the middle of it... I'm thinking that this would also be the basis for the 31 seconds break, retriggered. I never managed to get someone to give me that Future Music CD (Fannypad?) so I never progressed on that  Edited January 2, 2021 by Ornette Quote
MrMooncat Posted July 26, 2008 Author Report Posted July 26, 2008 glad to be of assistance and if you check the sample sources post the sax sample is from here as well used in sonic experience - protein ;-) Quote

Oxcasual Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Classic tune from back in the day. I've started playing it alot lately for some reason. Lost - Gonzohttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=IPXJ3TIA Quote
H_M_M Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I got a bad feeling the actual source of this is MC smooth - Legit beats. which is a Bside to "smooth & legit" The 808's stop and you're left with the gonzo break. it's also from 1990. Quote

Sounds about right to me - good find! I mentioned in another topic a while back that I suspected this break was from an old rap/hiphop tune. Quote
