When I ask for the release list of an artist I can press the column headers. Then it changes the order in which everything is displayed.

If the view is on Tracks it works fine. But when set to releases it just changes the order. There seems to be SOME order, as it does stay the same, but it isn't on catalogue, title, artist or year.

The first 12 descending catalogue numbers are:

BEAUTY001

VRS002CD

VRS002LP

VRS002LPR

MTRRVPR001

RE004

RONSTER002

PRO011

NIR12004

NIR12001

SHADOW117

MTRRCD001

:dazed:

Could of course just be Matrix... but if I sort by year, title or whatever... it's all messed up!

And how they should be sorted? I think as it should be in this case: descending catalogue numbers...

First thought it may be an Opera problem, but it's the same in IE.

*EDIT* Just tested Origin Unknown... same problem... like this one sorted on artist...

And added screenshot of Origin Unknown sorted on title...

will need to look at the code, but it looks like the releases are displayed sorted by label name (which however is not a column).

other than that what you probably notice is that release credited to matrix himself are always above releases he just had a track on. this should be made more explicit.

i agree things need to improve, pretty sure i wasn't sure about what sort order to use in the first place. mainly due to the fact when you look at a label discography there is really no column one can use for sorting the list as one would expect to see the releases. i actually added an extra column in the database for that, this sorts out labels like brain for instance. however this is a different order than just the catalogue numbers...
