thijs
take from dj natty's page at cosmic breaks: "This unique recording label was established in 1995 by Terry T - whose career began in the early days of the rave scene, in the form of "The Noise Factory", who set standards for others to follow. With tracks such as "Can You Feel Da Rush" recorded on the ibiza records label (one of the 1st jungle labels). After a long series of underground hits, Noise Factory formed a label called "Third Party Records" which brought you underground classics such as: "I Bring You The Future" and "Survival".During the summer of 1994 Knowledge & Wisdom, along with camp member "Demolition Man" brought you one of the most successful jungle tracks to date "Fire" which went to number 33 in the national charts.Since then Knowledge & Wisdom has been developing a style and format that is ready to come to the forfront of the scene..."(from the press release included with the Souljah recordings release SR002) interesting.. never thought of that myself :-)
spoox
That article has some flaws... like the one saying Rebel MC was aka Prizna, which as you already said, is Terry T. Actually that press sheet was from K&W7 i think.
thijs
Actually that press sheet was from K&W7 i think that would indeed make more sense, looking at the tracks mentioned
Essential Product
Prizna was a guy called Des Marks. He was teaching at 'Access To Music's 'British Academy of New Music' at 3-Mills Studios, Bromley-by-Bow, That was back in 2002, don't know if he still teaches at the BANM tho...... I know he was also heavily involved with 1xtra around its launch too, he was involved in some pretty big tings at the time (2002/3) can't remember much more of the details of what he was up to tho, been asleep since then... ...Tho I do remember him telling me how he got in trouble with some of the scenes big guns for trying to push DnB to 180+ bpm back in 94/95

Bad C
The Prizna that made Fire with Demolition Man IS Terry T from Knowledge & Wisdom
Ornette
To be precise, the quote comes from the PR sheet that came with the promo copies of Prizna - Fire on Labello Blanco. It also gives a release date for this release of March 6th. Not sure how this Terry T connection has come about. Bad C - do you have any info to back up your statement? kuli
So what about this then:"It was June 1994, that Demo returned to England to find that jungle music was the "in thing" taking the UK by storm. Early 1995 Bikey Dred spoke to Demo, he wanted to remix ?Pretty Looking Gal? in a jungle style. Demo was not keen on that, as he felt he had developed as an artist lyrically. He said he would voice a track on the terms that he could decide the producer on the track. Demo then called on his cousin Terry -T, who had now started his own label Knowledge and Wisdom, of which Demo is a part of. Together they came up with a track called ?Fire? which became a international hit charted at 33 in the National charts. " From Demolotion Man's myspace:http://www.myspace.com/rasdemolitionman It coincides with BadC's info.
Ornette
Just from looking now, (surprised I didn't see this before)the label for NLB18 says "All tracks written by T. Francis/D. Marks/C. Bucknall/W. Young" This link http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?what=R&obid=211951indicates similar (squint)"Produced & Arranged by BIKEY & DESI" Terry T obviously has done tracks with Demoiltion Man... just not the most well known one unfortunately! Just a few post above (in this thread) Looks like we've got the surname for Charlie now - Charlie Bucknall
thijs
Now... who is this Young fella?
Ornette
Well it looks like we are mistaken about Demoliton Man's surname, I have seen a variety of sources indicating his name is W. Young now - NLB18 label & PR sheet, the KUS03 release, Demo's myspace,
