JGS001 - My copy of this is

A: A-Sides - Burn Cali Weed

B: ???

B-side has "touch me baby, one more time, I love the way you hold me). Same sample as in FORM12033 and SHADOW34 (The Dreamer, I think)

There appear to be 3 versions of JGS001

Lennie De Ice is NOT John Aymer

He had nothing to do with owning any of the De Underground labels

This needs to be sorted, it'll mean that the related labels list looks a lot better too.

Lennie De Ice should be listed as owning...

Not sure what his real name is, Dara hasn't managed to come up with that yet. Will see if he can find out for us

is that including Mix to the Max II?

that was listed in the backtotheoldskool thread as being JGS001 aswell

Yeah, that's the one that we don't have either. The one we have up there is correct but there is also the Burn Cali Weed 12" as well as the Mix to the Max II 12".

Do you know any info on the tracks for MTTM2?

Direct Force is not a separate label - they are all releases on Reel 2 Reel. The Bun Cali Weed 12" (JGS003) is by A-Sides. No idea where we got this label name from, Direct Force was a promotions company

I can understand where the Direct Force label name came from - got a few 12" that came in a Direct Force sleeve. Sort of red-coloured, with lots of loud lettering and a couple of speaker symbols on it or something.

Look a little closer though and it does become obvious that Direct Force was a record distributor, who (therefore) simply put a few of their handled vinyls in Direct Force sleeves.

Wot's My Code "Wots My Code E.P." (dubplate) is one that comes to mind...

Thijs...slight confusion over

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/reel_2_reel/rdr3

I was suggesting that the second tune on that reocord should be

Raw From China - ??? (Part 3 Omen Mix)

This is going to be hard to represent without track names. Maybe we need to go through the Raw From China releases giving them standard track names so that we can work out the remixes on the 12s. I'm not sure if I have any of them though, so could be tricky....anyone got all four?

Sorry - confused here. This 10" release you mention had a label on it with track details - I remember for sure! And if I am not mistaken the side-B was simply named "Raw From China III (Remix)"

Why not stick with what was listed?

Yeah, it is labelled like that. We don't always stick with what's listed though as it kinda helps the way that things are listed to slightly alter them sometimes. If we can list that track as being Raw From China - (some track name) (Omen Mix) it makes much more sense and looks a lot more informative in the database than just having a totally different track name in there.

I see your point and when we do change badly labelled track names on releases we usually use the comments field to say what the track was originally labelled as.

Just trying to make the data that we hold as accurate as possible...many people didn't label their releases properly at all and I think it's good to clear up the confusion that sometimes results from this by editing it

Firstly, there is no artist called Reel 2 Reel. That's just the label name

Sorry to say this Haste but i am pretty sure Reel 2 Reel was an artist name as well as the label. The artists were John Aymer and some other guy (i can't remember his name). I believe i have a 12 somewhere of R2R on R2R Records - if i find it i will post the details.

Sorry m8 - i know this does your head in!

I know what you're saying...I wasn't quite clear enough, I think. Reel 2 Reel was printed? as an artist name but it was more of a collective thing. There are 12s that I have that were by numerous artists but all appeared under the "Reel 2 Reel" artist.

Yeah sure there was a Reel 2 Reel artist! They got in the charts didn't they?

OK, let's deal with IE Records

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/i_e/ie001

is wrong and should be deleted. It's a duplicate of

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/reel_2_reel/rtor

which should be listed under IE Records, not Reel 2 Reel

IE002 & IE003 are correct.

Another IE003 (on the label) actually has the etching NH002 (yes, NH not HN but I'm certain they are the same thing - the De Underground one should be moved and cat no changed or deleted) and is

Flex & Uncle 22

A: Party Time

B: ???

All releases mentioned so far should be 1991

releases 4 to 6 should be on De Underground, not IE. IE004 is actually etched IE4. I believe that IE005 is also etched IE5

OK, some more changes from my collection.

There are two UG4s and two UG5s

This

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/oddball/ug4p

Should just be UG4 - it's a totally different release from the other one, not a promo version

This

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/de_underground/ug5

is correct, but I guess it needs the last artist to be Cool Hand Flex too. The other UG5 is...

Oddball Recs

Flex & Uncle

Oddball 3 Ep

A: ???

B1: ???

B2: ???

This

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/oddball/ug6

is Flex & Uncle, not Randall

This...

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/u_no_dat/ug02

is UG002, not UG02

I'll go through them all and try and sort out years once we've got the listings correct.

We still need to take Lennie De Ice off the John Aymer aliases, it'll un-confuse the related labels listings quite a lot...see my post above about this :)

Hopefully we're getting somewhere with these litsings. I think we'll have them cleared up a fair amount before too long :D

Where did the tracklist for this one come from...I could have sworn that it didn't say that the other day?!

It's very similar to this, but different artists...

http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/u_no_dat/hn06

Not sure that the UG6 listing is correct.

HN06 should be 1992

another interesting thing to find out, how Reel 2 Reel were involved with the ITV Telethon?

Apparently they linked up a deal where they would have those Share labels on releases (presumably with the idea they would sell more) and then donate a portion of sales to Telethon.

(All info about these labels comin from A Sides who was heavily involved with them at the time.)

Actually, Phil and I from Law and order released some tracks with reel 2 reel, along with pro one records, at the same lind of time. there was also a quite large artist called reel 2 reel, so a bit confusing.
