haste
I don't think we shoudl call it a VIP mix if the label doesn't say it. If it needs to be separated from the D4 one then just put the release year in the remix name?
josh-hill
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/avex/avcd11451 Hydro - The Zone this should be Hydro (old)... http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/hydro_and for Hydro (old) the track is already in the database, so it should be linked to that entry
Phokus
To be honest, we should probably rename Hydro (old) as Hydro, and the newer Hydro as Hydro (2). I personally feel this is the right way to go - why should the first person to use the name be forced to have (old) tagged to them when the name has been re-used by someone more recently?
haste
Agree on the (old) thing. I think we should list them sequentially (where possible) First person to use it gets the original name and then any subsequent people get (2) etc. Obviously there might be instances where this isn't a good idea where a very big artist shares the name of someone who released one track a few years before them

haste
http://www.rolldabeats.com/search/title/kemistry Should all be credited to Metalheads to keep in line with original? Also VIP mix and Album Mix are exactly the same tune. I'd just call them all VIP, album mix doens't sound right when in compilation listings (as this is)
Ornette
I believe that on the CD it doesn;'t say its a mix at all, and only the vinyl release indicates its a different version, on which I do believe it states "VIP Mix". I believe the tune should be credited to Metalheads, along with "You And Me", "Inner City Life", "Jah" and many others which all saw original releases with the Metalheads artist moniker. I'm certain I addressed this and many other related things in my post here:http://www.rolldabeats.com/forum/index.php...41008&hl=goldie But, as yet, no progress or feedback from any one else here...
haste
Yeah, I thought this had been dealt with before but couldn't find that thread. Don't worry man, it will get dealth with but that's a lot of changes to go through and needs some serious work...hence being put on the back burner for the time being
Ornette
Here's an interesting one:The London Steppers release http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/candidate/cat006 is actually two Omni Trio tracks! "Nu Grooves" is the same as the Shadow release, although the "Thru The Vibe" is a slightly different version. "Thru The Vibe (London Steppers Mix)" anyone?
haste
^^ I had been thinking about that recently. The problem is that London Steppers is Omni Trio and that's just the name that Rob haigh went by before singing to Shadow. THey are the same tracks but the artist is different. I think this might be on of the ocassions where they should just be left as different artists. It's going to get too confusing and different from what's on the labels if we do this for absolutely everything that's slightly incorrect, I think. Not sure what others think on this matter
Ornette
Thats not quite true. Rob Haigh was already signed to MS............. I think that artist names on the tracks should be changed - after all, London Steppers could still be listed as the artist name for the EP release. This is implementable, yes? Ornette
http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/face/face002 Artist needs to be changed to The Full S.P. on "Raw Basics" to tally with the FACE103 remix release. I'd say change artist for both tracks...

haste
JM001 Aladdin Mashed 1995SMDCD112 Aladdin Mashed 1995HFCD46 Aladdin Mashed (Exclusive VIP Mix) These are all the same track. I think that the VIP bit should be taken off. Mashed is actually a remix of Mash Up Yer Know, from what I remember. I guess the VIP bit is referring to that?
