H_M_M
Hi im new here. I found this large breakbeat sample pack. called 'all the breaks' there's 99 .wavs each containing about 3 to 4 breakbeats. I came across track 77. here it is, these 2 breaks are the 3rd and 4th one in.http://www.caravan-soundsystem.org/track77.wav i uploaded it as a wav not an mp3 as some of you might like to use it! sped up and layered with some 808/909 this could defently be the beats used for prodigys ruff' but what track is it from??? it's doing my head in..! probably some old funk tune. Phokus
I thin I know what it is, but have you got a clip of the Prodigy track for me to reference? My old prodigy tunes are back at my parents' house...
H_M_M
http://www.caravan-soundsystem.org/ruffinajungle.wav here you go, that's the album version, now i'm gonna look for the uplifting vibes remix cause i can't remember if it uses simular beats or not. also, another sample pack of breaks, had a shorter version of it but it was just called 'TRAMP' does that ring any bells? mind you , also in the pack there was 'arson' which was actually the funky nassua part 2 break, so the names are a little off the cent. H_M_M
ah no, uplifting vibes mix uses a combination of Scorpio, Apache and maybe some 909 hits.
H_M_M
whilst im here on this fine site  could some one please ID the break used in Altern8's move my body? here's a cliphttp://www.caravan-soundsystem.org/altern8_movemybody.wav at first i thought it was 'funky pengiun' because of the quiet 'uhh'! even if it's not, the uhh! does sound like it's from that, but there's no piano, so it must be somthing else. Phokus
I think there's another version of funky penguin without the piano, tbh... either that or it might be a right vs left channel thing.

MeMyself&I
EDIT: This break seem to have been identified as Demon Boyz - Dett. Thanks to those who figured it out. Wow, this site is great. I discovered 4-5 breaks which have been a mystery for me for years. Anyway, I got some treats for ya all. First it is this break (did some mix and processing): DivShare File - unknownbreak.mp3 People who owned Cool Boarders 2 should recognize it. Recently it was used (as background break) in High Contrast "Racing Green" all though it was probably from the original source and not the second generation (without the 808 kick and guitar sound): DivShare File - high_contrast_-_racing_green_clip.mp3 EDIT: - Anyone know what the breaks are in Calibre - Feeling Happy, also in Roni Size - Daylight?I checked out Feeling Happy, it seems this is the break. MeMyself&I
EDIT: This has been identified as Victory Strut by yours truly. And here's another one. This one is a megaphat hip-hop break: Also both first and second generation (probably): First gen (Coldcut Kleptomania, got it from ThE SaMpLisT): DivShare File - Victory.wavSecond gen (trueplayaz site): DivShare File - strut.wav Recently used (also as background break) in High Contrast - "Expose" (processed clip): DivShare File - high_contrast_-_expose_clip.mp3 Here's another clip from the first Grand Theft Auto soundtrack (second generation): DivShare File - gta_clip.mp3 It was also used in Deee-Lite - "Stay In Bed, Forget The Rest". Happy hunting!
MeMyself&I
And yet another one, should be pretty famous this one too: Didn't really have the best source: DivShare File - unknownbreak2.mp3 Used in Junkie XL - "War" (the previous unknown break is also in this tune (not in clip)): DivShare File - junkie_xl-war_clip.mp3 Other songs: Shy FX - The Message
MeMyself&I
OMGZ ANOTHER ONE! Yes another mystery break, should be instantly recognizable (didn't have a really good source I'm afraid): DivShare File - unknownbreak3.wav Used in: DivShare File - shimmon___andy_c-quest_clip.mp3 Just imagine it without the sandy break. Force is Electric
Otis Redding & Carla Thomas - Tramp rings a bell, but I don't think it's the song you're lookin for. Or maybe Joe Tex - Papa Was Too, which was an answer record to the Otis tune. Definitely has a break, not sure I can hear it in that clip though. fannypad
This one's been doing my nut... trying to find the break that's on top of the amen & 808 kick that's in this section of News At Ten Wakkad mix: http://www.urbanbomb.co.uk/news.mp3 Sounds a bit like a processed funky drummer but I'm certain I've got an identical sounding break buried away on one of my hard drives, trawled though a load but there's only so much time you can spend listening to random breakbeats non stop... Ornette
Yesd that sounds like Funky Drummer to me also sounds like the same funky drummer source used in Mike Slammer Red Alert "In Effect" and also Psycho & Mr Man "Jungle" poss either of those have a grabbable loop of that Funky drummer version! What would be good to know though is the origianl source for the News At 10 amen, a substantial more deviance to the original source I'd say at least...? edit: try DJ Illeagle "Testify"
