jj Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Good find I enjoyed watching that, even if it did focus too much on the ragga side of things. Quote
Logic Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks for posting that up, always great to see original footage from back then. Was quite funny to see Shy FX high off his ass trying to explain jungle Quote
haste Posted November 24, 2009 Author Report Posted November 24, 2009 Yeah, it is a little too heavy on the ragga jungle stuff but thought it was pretty interesting. Funny seeing Shy & Gunsmoke jumping around Shy's bedroom making tunes. They all look so young! Quote
Ornette Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 How little did they know they were chronicling the end of jungle, rather than the beginning! To be fair, it is right to focus on ragga jungle because that was what went off in that year, a more general documentary on jungle drum & bass wouldn't really have been appropiate... This must have been the one around December time 1994, i remember there were two on TV around that time, the other (on Channel 4) i still have on video Quote
The_Manipulator Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Ha, I think I even have this one on video somehwere... with my mate Ash in the studio with Shy... Aaahhh... the good old days.... Quote
fused Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Nice one, I've been trying to recall this doc for ages - all I could remember about it was Rap and Trace in Lucky Spin! Quote
Logic Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 This is an extreme longshot, but does anyone have any idea what the little reggae sample is at 4:42 in part 1 of the documentary? It plays for less than a second, but it's pretty distinctive... I don't recognize the guys at the controls, and I also don't recognize the sample from any jungle tune Could it be a part of the tune that comes in at 4:50 (which I also don't recognize)? Quote
haste Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 Must be part of the tune that they're making but I don't recognise those guys and don't know the tune Quote

It's Delroy Wilson - Run Run They're probably sampling 'Running Dub', available on this comp: http://www.souljazzrecords.co.uk/releases/?id=120 Quote
