thijs Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Hello, As you may or may not know Tarzan is undergoing some big changes at themoment. We will be re-launching with a new name, new design and lotsof exciting new features. We are hoping to offer a lot more scans of recordlabels & sleeves and record label logos, this is where we would like to askfor a little help from you lot.... If you are at all able to provide us with scans for releases then it wouldhelp us out a great deal. to make things a bit easier on our side here are afew 'rules': 1. please sent label logos as GIFs if appropriate, JPG otherwise. name them.gif (or .jpg). with label name being the name as used in thetarzan database. naming: .gife.g. 31_reocrds.gif 2. with cover and label scans please use a maximum width of 400 pixels. mostof these images will be JPGs. please name them according the examples below. to indicate the release use the label name and the catalogue number: naming: --e.g. 'moving_shadow-shadow14-x.jpg' the type of image can be front/back/inlay/cd/a/b/c...with the latter being scans in the labels on the vinyl itself. 3. artist pictures have a maximum width of 400 pixels as well, and mainly are inthe JPG format. if possible please state who took the picture (and thus ownsthe copyright). naming: .jpge.g. omni_trio.jpg The pictures can be sent to tarzan@spoox.org, but keep in mind that you keepthe emails smaller than 1 megabyte. Please only sent images of entries whichare already in the database, or sent extra info to be added. Thanks in advance! Quote
Logic Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 What do you think about lifting scans we see on other websites, either personal or commercial (like a record shop or eBay)? These images can't be copyrighted, so it only seems like a good idea. Plus I see scans of stuff on eBay of some VERY rare releases that it is unlikely we would get scans for otherwise. Thoughts? The_Manipulator Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Finally found this again... was tired of finding out the naming scheme each time, so made it a sticky this time  Quote
Ornette Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 Are the images being added now? I remember a little back there was a whole lot submitted by iamdek that had not been uploaded Quote
thijs Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 No, unfortunatelly I still do not have time for this. Images will be added once the new updating system will be in place. Once that is done I can focus on images etc instead of the plain updates and additions. All is still in the (large) queue, and I hope all of them can be added soon as they sure make the site look better imo. Quote
haste Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 This will speed up in a big way once the new system is in place. We have a huge backlog of this sort of thing that spread amogst the team will be a lot quicker! Quote
